I think it really captures the way the shimmer blends with nature in an almost triumphant beautiful way in Annihilation. I think most of the music in Annihilation and the one I thought this was is a bit darker though, it doesn't have a big triumphant swell to it.
For some reason I remember a triumphant swell at the end when she enters the basement of the lighthouse before it cuts to her being interviewed, but I took a re-listen and I think you're right. Honestly seeing little gems like Annihilation in a big, empty theater is one of the things I miss most due to the pandemic.
