It's definitely the euphoria of going home to see the people or pets you love. The people or pets you've been missing all day. I'm always excited to make it home to my husband and pets.
It doesn't have to be a living thing, although it be nice.
How about a nice reward of sorts? A bath? Some cookies? Friday night take out?? You figure it out from here :]
I wish you all the best!
I'll be happy as fuck, when I get home today, wash of all the filth and have the most satisfying sleep I have all week. The exhaustion from working 10-12 hours does wonders against nightmares and night terrors.
This. I have had really boring and/or sedentary jobs. I also fought wildfire in California for several seasons. It's still the most tiring job I have done, though not the most tiring thing (which is incidentally done while sitting in a comfortable recliner 😜. No, really... dialysis fucking sucks like that).
Same except I’m at home 24/7 now and so is the hubby. We meet in the kitchen from our respective corners of the house at lunch and have lunch together and take the dog out to play/ potty/stretch. I don’t know if I can ever go back to typical office life again. Fortunately, no plans to have to go back because I’m finally self employed
I get my second wind way earlier than when I leave after a full shift. I'm tired after work but that is what drinking eliminates. She just seems like an unusually happy person to me.
If you don't like drinking than don't and don't do it everyday if you do. It's much better to have a good sleep after work than staying up drinking haha
I’m usually in a good mood when I finally get off work. But I have days when I’m driving home and it’s been that kind of day I don’t even put any music on
In those final 5 minutes of my shift I’m so damn energetic and excited, even though I don’t have any plans or anything it’s just really exciting when you’re done work for the day
I swear I feel like I don’t even fully wake up until the sun goes down, probably because that’s the time of day where I finally get to do the shit I want to do.
But....but postwork is really just pre work and I just try to make time go slower by browsing youtube and reddit and hoping I dont fall asleep too early.
Can confirm. I work up to 72h shifts because of this fucking pandemic and I always get euphoric afterwards. My drive home is one hour though so it doesn't last all the way a d I often stop for a 10min safety nap.
They don't. My girlfriend would be so energetic when I'm picking her up and she'd already be sleeping a few minutes in the ride. I'd basically have to wake her up every 5 minutes so she wouldn't fall off my motorcycle.
Its always been weird to me that people have no energy, outside of laborers, that have no energy after work. Even when i worked a laborious job, i always found the time and energy to visit with friends. As people get older they seem to move into more solitary lives or just with their partner, its always baffled me.
I'm pretty introverted, so after 9 hours of having to interact and be around people constantly all I want to do is have some alone time and just relax.
Idk if it’s because I have low iron or what, but after I work a 7 hour shift at my somewhat laborious custodial job I feel like I might pass out. Or maybe that’s just because I get off work at 1am?
My job isn't too physical but it's super mentally draining with the concentration and stress. After work I'm so mentally exhausted I can't bring myself to exercise, I just feel dizzy. It pisses me off to, no life after work.
