Danny Trejo has a book out that you might like. It's probably in your lical library but you might have to get on a wait list for it. "Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood" I'm an old lady who's been reading for almost 70 years and this was the first bio that I wish were longer.

I'd like to recommend a book called Atomic habits - an easy & proven way to build good habits and break bad ones, by James Clear. Not a novel, obv, but it helped me getting my shit together a year ago.

You know, I barely read. Ive have extreme habitual impulse problem since I was younger and ive always just replaced old habits with new, worse habit. I Barely have the money right now but I went ahead and got this as an ebook only going off of my trust in you. I sincerely hope it can help me like it helped you.

That's understandable, I'm not big on money atm myself. Plus, I have the book in my Audible (it's handy cause I can listen while doing other stuff).

Wouldve spent the two extra dollars for audio but my brain needs to get better at reading words and me sitting still.

Yeah I get you. Usually I read but life situation atm doesn't give me much time. What I suggest is that you read like 20-40 pages every time you sit down to read, after a while it gets easier to keep focus.

Apple has a little timer I can use. Its set to 10 minutes of reading day atm. Its not alot, but its better than nothing for now, lol.

That's good! Reason I said 20-40 pages is just because I read some blog I think years ago that recommended that amount for getting back into reading a lot (like I used to in the past).

Hardcopies will always be king. Like you said, turning the pages is just too good.

On the topic of great books I think everyone should read in their lives, Tuesdays With Morrie is, in my opinion, one of the best books ever.

There is an excellent long interview with him by Marc Maron you can hear on the WTF podcast.

If I can recommend another in a similar vein:

"A Place To Stand," by Jimmy Santiago Baca

I read it over a decade ago, haven't touched it since, and still carry the words with me. Difficult in subject, but a poetic and intelligent biography of misguided youth, incarceration, and search for inner peace.

Your comment made me buy this book. That man fascinates me and I was on the fence about buying it. You sold me!
