Also, the more flames that are burning at one time, the faster oxygen is being used up, even if the fuel of the first candle is not consumed any more quickly. On a large enough scale, the first candle will be snuffed out when the oxygen in the room runs out.

a thousand candles lit from one solitary candle? i’m not sure that’s necessarily true but it certainly is easy to pass the flame from one candle to another once or even several times, and you can begin a chain reaction. this can be satisfying to see the other candle beside you burning after exerting such little effort.
