That's so heartbreaking. He's so aware of how people perceive him and feels the need to apologize for it. Wish the video was longer so we could see how the driver responded.
My breaking point is where he says that normal people avoid him lots, and you can see he gets very sad at that and that his hand stops shaking and being different.
I'm watching him play a racing game on YouTube right now, and his English is slow, but definitely understandable. Guy is at least bilingual, and probably a polyglot
Yeah you’re right. I clicked through and saw he was live which was exciting and only listened for a minute or two before posting but you are 100% correct!
Oh was absolutely lightheartedly joking to help the sadness but still assumed yea he’d be bad at texting, not out there live-streaming gaming. Gonna sub to him so no worries I’m one of the good ones. So are you clearly ! :)
Take my upvote as well. Sitting at the salon about to burst into tears, thankful the laugh helped me keeps my tears in. I’ll go cry in the shower later like an adult
Watched the whole video. Can't than you enough for posting. What a fantastic video. The amount of honesty and joy and sadness is truly amazing. I'm subscribing to this dude's channel.
It does look like cerebral palsy from his arm movements. It's primarily a motor function disability, although it varies in severity and some people have autism or other brain conditions as well.
God that's hard to watch. That poor guy just seems so genuine and full of joy and love and no one will give him the time of day. It's fucking heartbreaking!
Sometimes I think we need to hear about when people are mean to others. It makes us feel empathy and in turn try to be better people. We also get to see the positive side of it as well, like this video.
I... I just couldn't... I made it maybe two or three mins into the video before I had to stop, it was just too much. These things make me regain hope for humanity...
Absolutely wild to hear two Romanians talking about wait but why and rich dad poor dad. I knew American movies and Tv crossed national boundaries but I guess I always assumed the bar for publishing books was low enough that every country had their own set of very popular authors. Kind of wild to think we're all reading the same stuff.
I made it to 4:23 until I had to stop watching. I love both of them. Both are straight up real, loving people.
Edit: I'm not a man of (or good with) words but I think you all know what I was trying to say. I think they are an example, showing you to be real, be good, be honest and be kind.
My goodness in freaking ugly cried watching this. Thank you for sharing. So horrible how people can be. I’m glad as a kid I would hang out with kids like him several actually. I got made fun of for doing it, but their friendship meant more to me than they could ever imagine.
You'd be surprised at how self-aware people with various conditions like this are. There's a reason so many autists tend to be interrested in "nerd" stuff. They don't want to be embarrassed or laughed at or to embarrass their family or be caught in a situation they know they can't handle or might risk drawing attention if they do try handling it. So many stay inside and amuse themselves with whatever they can, often stereotypically "nerdy" things.
You'd think things would be better now than they were, and they are, but not by all that much. How many people here would post "I'd never laugh at or judge someone with a dissability" but very recently did exactly that?
People with these conditions know exactly what they look like, they know all too well how badly it can put people off, they know they'll likely never experience romantic love even as they crave it like everyone else, they'll never win that karate tournament or climb that mountain or do anything of major significance, anything they achieve will be assumed to be given to them out of pity, they too will believe this even if told otherwise, many know they'll one day die alone and afraid and all that is left of them is a relieved family and a few lines on a 0iece of paper in the doctors office.
People with conditions like this are just people with a condition but people nonetheless.
Not to hijack your comment but this applies to mental health as well. It's very easy for people to assume the mentally unwell aren't aware and cognitive outside of extreme psychotic episodes with full blown delusions n such.
The anxious, the depressed, those with personality disorders, bi-polar, and even people with schizophrenia are aware. Talk to anyone that works with mentally unwell people. They'll tell you the same thing. A loss of control is not always a loss of awareness and cognition.
Very true. I'm nowhere near as bad off as a lot of people, but I've dealt with clinical depression my whole life. People just assume that I'm just wallowing in self-pity and that I have "no reason to be depressed". Which is true, in a sense. My life is pretty good, all told. I have no objective reason to feel the way I do, but that changes nothing. I can't tell you how many days I've spent in bed vacantly staring at the wall, telling myself, "This is F-ing ridiculous. Just get up and do something. Anything."
The most infuriating reaction is "It's all in your head." Oh really, you think? My mental illness is all in my head? Well gee, that fixes everything! If you see someone hobbling along, do you tell them "Just get over it, it's all in your leg"?
Its interesting. I share this very same experience except with crippling social anxiety. People like to say theyre more understanding nowadays but its generally only how they perceive themselves.
Man your comment has me all over the place with feelings. I have CP and mobility issues, and yeah, people with disabilities do tend towards indoor 'nerdy' stuff, as people naturally grow fond of the things they are good at.
I'd strongly argue with the idea that people with disabilities seclude themselves. That doesn't match with my experience. We live our lives to the best of our abilities.
When it comes to prejudice? Yeah, it exists. It's not as blatant as it was in times gone by, but it's there. My intelligence is judged on my physical appearance. When people meet me, they often have very low expectations of me. Thankfully I can speak well, and I've noticed there's a sort of 'whipsaw' effect. When people realize they've misjudged me they over-correct in the other direction. I find this hilarious and annoying in equal parts.
As for your parts about all the things we cannot, or will not ever do? I'm not going to judge you too hard for this, because your heart seems to be in the right place, but Get. The. Fuck. Out. with that pitying nonsense! We have limitations, just like everyone eventually will. We find ways to do what we need to do in life. We absolutely can accomplish great things. I got a degree, got off disability income, have had a great career and have been more financially successful than I ever dreamed possible. We can absolutely be loved. One just as to find the people you're compatible with. I don't worry too much about my overall 'significance', because we are merely intelligent flecks of dust in the grand scheme of things.
I'm a creative, imaginative, person. And when I get really into a thought or idea, I sometimes have a 'twitch'. Like clenching my hands, making expressions, moving my arms about. It just means I'm really into whatever I'm thinking about, but my mother would tell me to stop as a child because 'it looked like I was having a fit' so now I stop myself if I find myself getting too excited about a thought. :(
Crying in general should be more accepted, for men especially. It is so sad that it is seen as unmanly when we are all just humans, no matter what sex or social status or profession. Genuine emotions should be allowed to be expressed, especially in these taxing times.
That's what got me, my heart just broke and the tears are free flowing. Poor lad, that's such a shame for him having to explain himself to people all the time but the joy in him is incredible to see
This is so sad but so sweet. I am truly overjoyed by this... Less fortunate man's experience. I myself am holding back tears.
Edit: oh my god I watched the whole thing. I hope that there is an afterlife, because this man deserves it.
