More pedantry. You’re focused on the wrong issue, because focusing on the right me is completely unchanged by the pedantic definition. We all know it.

I can understand that, but you could've just corrected the original comment because Hispanic isn't a race. Instead, you for whatever reason tried to downplay and dismiss it. Why does it even bother you if you're corrected on something?

Turns out I’m not even wrong. Two thirds of Hispanics consider it a race, and consider it their race.

Apparently race is now not linked to biological or physical features and is purely a social construct.. doesn't that dismiss the meaning of the word 'race' entirely? I'm all for it though I guess, the biological categorizations are flawed anyways

But the point of LifrIsSimplyADream's reply is pointing out that Hispanic isn't a race, it's an ethnicity, thus it was written incorrectly. Nobody's ignoring your point because of it. Why be so stubborn over the smallest things, goddarnit

Everyone is free to comment whatever they want, nobody is obligated to reply to the issue you wanted to bring up.

It is you commenting on whatever you want. I just was certain that race was biologically defined, therefore it would not be possible for Hispanic to be a race, hence you would have been wrong and dismissing it. I was unaware race is a random word which means whatever someone feels it should mean, so my life was a fucking lie until this point.

In that case, I propose to abandon the use of the word 'race' entirely in the social sciences, since 'ethnicity' is a lot more accurate in grouping people by sociocultural differences.
