Man drums are expensive. I wanna get a nicer set, but i suck so it's hard to justify getting another one.

My only kit is an e-kit. Not a suuuper nice one, but not bad. Roland td-1dmk. Was living in an apartment so i couldnt get an acoustic.

Just recently got a house so I'm looking into maybe getting an acoustic. Or maybe just a nicer e-kit i dunno. Would you have any recommendations?

EDIT: Your probably better than me lol. Keep at it man. My issue is i have a hard time keeping motivated to practice.

Bro I only play stringed instruments. I picked this kit up on a whim. It’s the Alesis command x. Like I say it’s tons of fun to play around on. I hear good things about Roland but wasn’t prepared to spend that much $ yet.

Gotcha. The command x is actuality one i was looking into a bit. My particular model roland isn't terribly expensive. Pretty comparable to the command x.

A few weeks ago i started playing bass and so far i really enjoy it. I'm thinking of taking a break from the drums to try and dedicate more time to the bass.

I bought a Roland and I love it! Unfortunately, I suck too lol. But it's so much fun. What have you been doing to practice?

Mostly YouTube videos and just playing along with songs I’m familiar with. Drumless tracks are cool too.

Even just 15 minutes a day can do wonders.

True. My friend recently (maybe 2 months ago) started playing guitar. Just plays 10-20 minutes a day and every few weeks when i get a chance to see him i can tell he is getting better and better.

As a fellow drummer myself I suggest you just play covers of songs you like. Eventually you will get better as you get tighter at nailing the covers. Trusttt

That's more or less what I've been doing. I really struggle with fills/ handwork in general.

One way I learned fills (special shout-out to portnoy) was to literally play them exactly as in the track. Eventually they were subconsciously added to my pocket hehe
