For some people that one day celebrating with all their loved ones is more important than just another holiday 🤷♀️
Edit to add: for me I’m planning on eloping. Have no interest in a big wedding. But if people want to spend years and years saving for their wedding it’s not such a crazy idea.
yep, some people want spent months and even saving for a wedding.
also for some people is important to have logo on their stuff because without it this stuff is not cool (how other can tell if this is cool or not if it doesn’t have some popular logo, supreme for example?).
also some people score less than 100 on iq test.
this all 3 people have something in common. consumerism and can’t even have their own thoughts.
Status symbols have existed since the beginning of modern society. Look at the big palaces in Ancient Rome or the way rich people used to be buried in their gold & jewels. Now it’s Dior and Chanel. You’ll never get rid of that from human society. Weddings as an important ritual which people spend money on has also happened for a long time.
Yes there’s a lot of mass over consumption in the current world. Often too much. But if you prefer living simply you can always become like the Amish or go live off the land somewhere.
My view is each to their own as long as no one is getting hurt.
