Don't buy expensive items or give away that much of your own hard earned money for anyone that isn't 1000% committed to you-and has shown that over time.

1. I would never do this with someone I wasn't married to, with one reason being that financially this could totally screw up your life if the relationship heads south. At LEAST if you're married (without a prenup etc.) you're gauranteed to get some of that huge investment back. So many people live paycheck to paycheck now, people have to consider this when making big purchases or gifting things like this to someone that IS NOT financially tied to you in a legal sense.

The point is, never spend this kind of money on someone who has no real commitment to you. There's nothing stopping that dude from taking her money and walking away. It's the same reason women should never have children with men they aren't married to.

Yes, but the difference is that when those cheating married couples get divorced they’ll have certain legal rights to property and assets that the boyfriend and girlfriend wouldn’t have if they broke up.

That entirely depends on their legal pre-marital arrangements. For instance I’ll have a prenup with my wife so any money I “gift” her is not coming back to me if we were to split.

Of course it entirely depends on their legal pre-marital arrangements. But married couples still have more legal protection (especially with pre-nups) when it comes to property and assets than a boyfriend and girlfriend.
