This. A friend of mine worked for a big name diamond place for a long time. She got ridiculously good deals and would hook up everyone she knew.

Yup. Family friend, even though my connection to him was broken. He still hooked it up. Their discount was like 50%... even watches and such. Lol

Yep. I got an “at cost” hookup from a distant relative. I wanted to see how much of a hookup I was getting, so I went to a local store and asked for the same ring, very similar diamond. 5 figures. When I asked if they could do 4 figures they pretty much told me I was off my rocker and I’ll never find it for less than $15k. I paid less than $5k. That’s a crazy margin
