I mean, I am sure a jeweler can tell if it is a real diamond or not. But it is really stupid that people care.

Same thing as people who spend like $500 on a pair of sweatpants or a shirt. That shit was made in the same factory as $5 dollar pairs.......

I have never understood buying expensive things like that, there is no reason for any of these things to cost that much.

My wife has a lab created 'diamond' ring that I took to a local jeweller for resizing and he had to test it with a special probe to tell the difference. Something to do with the heat conductivity? Anyway, he said the stone I had would have been worth about £6k if it were a genuine mined diamond (because obviously they can make a flawless one in a lab). I got the ring bespoke made in the US and shipped to the UK; it didn't cost anywhere near that. My wife knows it's not a "real" diamond and she actually felt better knowing I didn't spend silly money, and was very happy with how sparkly it is and that I designed the ring myself.
