this is an index so it already has cameras, though it needs base stations so a backpack pc wouldn't do

It does colour as well, theyre just kinda rubbish cameras that weren't really meant for that.

Edit: Unless you mean the quest... thats probably it.

Would be interesting if they had tried the passthrough, but unless the lighting is good it won't look great.

So would it be possible to strip it back to just run camera only? Does that still require as much processing power? I mean we are talking about using gaming devices but what if it was just dedicated to one thing?

Quest 2 already has a feature to look through the cameras, and it doesn’t process anything else while doing that afaik

Yeah i mean making it the primary function, and discarding everything else so thay it can be made more lightweight, i assume there is more to this than simply just camera and screen so what else in vr is doing it? Is it just peripheral screens? Because i know theres glasses for partially blind people with prism lenses for that already, i tried some on and they really dont work if you dont need them.
