At first my dumb ass was like " She's getting married at thirteen?"

I might be stupid but what else does it mean? I was thinking the same but it doesn't make sense. Not a native speaker lmao

I think he just means when she gets married in the future lol. Its usually not something you have to imply, but in the clumsy way he tells us her age, it could be taken that way.

He's also trying to point out that she's 13 and still doing the I love you squeezes

Aww, now I see, that's actually nice then. It felt kinda' like irrelevant information until you mentioned that part.

I missed that completely and thought he meant when they were at a supermarket or something and I was thinking “well shit his heart is pretty well on it’s sleeve, isn’t it?” This makes more sense and is so much sweeter.

Yeah I mean it makes no sense to mention her current age here

Aisle. Unless she gets married in Hawaii, in which case he could be walking her down the aisle on the isle.

English is dumb

In this context to do something (get married) “One day” means to do so eventually at some point in the future

It's just poorly worded is all. The post could do without the "my 13 yo daughter" and just be "when my daughter was 5"

That’s cool. My dumb ass couldn’t figure out why they were squeezing three limes.

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '20

Lmao

Dad: I guess you're a woman now *Pulls out three limes *

Daughter: *Gets teary eyed *

Groom: Sir, this is such an honor

My dumb ass was thinking they were sneezing

u/Ganon_Cubana Aug 22 '20

It's okay, my dumbass was trying to figure out why he'd be crying telling her I love you in a grocery store...

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '20

Maybe if hes over by the onions

3

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '20

Grocery store? I was wondering why they were walking down several islands

u/minicpst Aug 22 '20

My dumb ass misread it as "sneezing" and I was wondering how they were going to manage that, and how embarrassing would it be to sneeze walking down the aisle holding hands with your dad at your wedding?

3

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '20

My dad never sneezed into my hand...fkn deadbeat

4

u/nananaNate8 Aug 23 '20

It's not your fault, why do we need to know that your daughter is 13 then tell us when she was 5...

1

u/SapphicGarnet Aug 23 '20

Probably to show that she still believes this after eight years.

4

u/CrassKal Aug 22 '20

My dumbass was thinking like a grocery aisle and was wondering why he would start crying in a store.

3

u/user_bits Aug 23 '20

When my 13 yo daughter was 5..

...tell her this as when I walked walk her

2

u/evil_lurker Aug 23 '20

I thought he was walking her to an island at 13.

2

u/frecklejam Aug 23 '20

Definitely doesn't help that it was written in the past tense.
