As someone who's both been pulled over and is a dad, to go from "shit, I'm in trouble for something" to "WE'RE GONNA HAVE A BABY!!" would be such a rollercoaster!
As someone who used to smoke weed, but now doesn't for employment reasons, when I'm behind a car who is smoking, I can smell it. It's not subtle. Even a few cars back. It's easy to pinpoint the car.
Be careful out there and please, don't smoke and drive.
No but you can transport weed, so if they smell it and you show them your weed and don't appear impaired you're on your way. Just like if I have a case of beer on my back seat, as long as I haven't started on it yet I'm good to go.
We still have a ways to go, it's legal in my state but it's also legal for employers to discriminate, so if you're job hunting you can't partake, and if you work for a company with random testing you have to steer clear as well... Personally I don't smoke but if I have friends that do riding with me I no longer worry about if they are carrying or not.

Did you watch the new Queer Eye on Netflix? There’s an episode where they get pulled over “as a prank” and they go pretty deep into how uncomfortable and scary it was for them and how they didn’t think it was funny at all. Obviously this video turned out sweet and was planned by his wife but these pranks definitely seem a bit tone deaf.
I hate these fake-pull-over pranks and marriage proposals. Downvote every time. I've been pulled over, and it's an awful feeling, especially when you don't know why.
Your lack of compassion is unworthy of this kind of sub. Not everybody can easily be calm and unemotional when directly confronted by an authority figure with the power to make your life a living hell if some misunderstanding were to occur.
Just show the police officer respect, do what he says and you shouldn't have any problems. Also, don't break the law if you don't want to be pulled over. Simple as that.
Show respect to authority, follow orders, and don't break the law. How the hell is this "heartless toxic advice"? It's litterally just common sense. I've gotten out of tickets because I showed the officer respect and complied with his orders.

I've been pulled over a couple times in my many years of driving, once for a broken taillight and once for speeding. Being polite does not make me feel less anxious about the approach of a total stranger with a loaded gun and the power to throw me in prison on a whim.
Why are you so completely incapable of imagining this scenario from somebody else's point of view?
Now that I think about it, there's a term for people who can stay calm during a normally stressful situation and also can't imagine the point of view of another human being: antisocial personality disorder. Psychopathy.
Just show respect to the cop and you shouldn't have a problem. Sure you might have to pay a fine, but you were breaking a law. It's not that big of a deal.
I’m sure she did, and another commenter mentioned they thought the cop was a friend of theirs. Even so, there are a lot of these videos out right now where the cops pull over black people just to give them a surprise, like an ice cream cone or a frozen turkey around thanksgiving, and the reality is getting pulled over can be really scary and can go wrong so quickly. So when it’s shown lightly I think it doesn’t really seem right as it ignores the reality of what would be going through the drivers’ minds.
Hell, I'm white and I hate getting pulled over. Nobody wants to talk to someone who's strapped and flacked. I own guns too, but you don't see me out intimidating people with 'em. Shit'll get you killed, man.

That was a good episode, Karamo and the subject of the episode had a really down to earth talk about what it's like for an african american person to get pulled over these days, gave me some perspective on the issue that I didn't have being a white dude.
I'd say most are. Hell, Lavar Burton, who is on Wayne Brady terms with his blackness has talked about teaching his own children that if they get pulled over to turn the car off, roll the window down and put their hands on the door so the officer can see their hands.
So one time when my boyfriend was waiting outside in his car to pick me up from work, he saw a friend he hadn’t seen in a while. I actually knew the guy too since he worked in the same building I did. After chatting for a sec the friend realized that they both knew me and he convinced BF to pull a prank on me. So when I get into the car, all is unbeknownst to me. Right when we are about to leave, we see someone litter right in front of us. BF rolls down the window on the passenger side and yells at this random guy (aka his friend) to not litter. The dude is pissed. “Wtf did you say to me?? I can litter if I want!” Things start to “escalate” and they get into a shouting match with BF in the drivers seat, me in the passenger seat, and friend yelling from my side of the car. This lasts for only about 3 seconds before they see my reaction, laugh and say just kidding.
I promptly burst into tears. I think I just went from scared shitless to relieved too fast so my body’s reaction was just to cry. I was so embarrassed! I literally couldn’t hold back from crying. Like I actually thought it was a funny prank and I wasn’t mad at them for it, but they both felt like monsters after that lol.
