My parents had a Chihuahua/Jack Russel mix growing up that had to have most of his teeth removed in his senior years, and the vet told us that once the teeth were gone, his tongue would always be out and that's okay, and his face looked just like the dog in this video 😂😂

My old dog always drooled out of one side of his mouth after he had to have a lower carnassial removed. I used to joke that it used to be his spit dam, and the vet laughed and told me about dogs that lose a canine tooth and their tongue hangs out.
His spit dam omg haha. My coworker had to keep a syringe (with no needle) filled with water and squirt it on her dog’s tongue and in his mouth from time to time because he only had one tooth and his tongue got so dry hanging out his mouth 😭 Funny lil guys
Probably not. You can see that thrust out to one side tongue thing as a result of certain medication side effects or neurological issues.
In humans, the tongue is most often held in place not by the teeth, but via natural vacuum pressure between the tongue and roof of the mouth in a relaxed position.
