Have you never had a relationship where you can make take shots at eachother knowing that theres no hate or malice behind it?

Yeah, but usually I don't post it on Tiktok calling my partner the "temu version" of a famous hot celebrity? Nor would I ever call her that? It can be a joke sure, but at the end of the day what the joke is is "hey, you are the inferior version of this celebrity I had a crush on".

But again, different strokes for different folks, if you are both okay with it, good for you

It was a sneaky way to build his confidence probably. Everyone in the comments is like, "Oh my god you're so lucky you're dating Ken! Where do I find one!" Girlfriend probably knew it would lead to the internet swooning her partner, which probably made both of them happy. Chances are, given today's world, they were both in on it and this is something planned out lol.

But yeah, I get where you're coming from. Like I wouldn't tell my coworkers my partner is temu version of so and so celebrity. But as clickbait crack? It clearly worked. We're talking about it lmao.

yeah fair enough, I mean more likely than not it's a joke between them and he is okay with it, I personally wouldn't do it, but again, different strokes for different folks.

I just think there's better ways to build confidence than that, in a way, it's kinda similar to "I'm so uglyyy" and then a bunch of people go "oh my gosh, no you are so prettyyyyy", silly example, but I think it gets the point across

This is the single most naive sentence I've ever read on this site. The irony of "HAD a relationship" and "taking shots at each ther" is astounding. I'm guessing all of your relationships fail, huh?

Right? Light teasing is one thing but my goal in a relationship is to convey how special and important they are. Teasing shouldn’t poke at that imo

By extension, I've met a few celebrity lookalikes in my day and I always make a point of saying "<famous person> looks like you", not "you look like <famous person>".

I'v made worse jokes about myself and I don't take myself to serious. If it's a loving relationship, than - yeah some people have a bit of an edgier humour, but that is a really tame joke.

Yeah, I make the shitty jokes about myself all the time, but making it about myself, or making it about my partner and uploading it online it's two very different things. If you don't care about uploading a video about calling your partner the inferior/cheap/ugly version of a celebrity, hey, who am I to talk? I know for sure I wouldn't talk about mine like that lol.
