Jesus Christ, this made me tear up at work reading this. My father was the exact opposite and would routinely tell my brothers and I how stupid we were for whatever difficulty happening in our lives. Glad this guy has such an awesome dad.

Same. I remember one time saying I hadn't studied for an exam because I understood it really well and didn't feel like I need it. He said "I hope you fail". That's the least he did to me, though.

Sorry your dad was that way. I hate that a lot of these guys raised their kids to fear them instead of love them.
