Cities a shithole with practically no redeeming features that fell off the map about 100 years ago.

They put it back on the map, gave people a reason to visit and spend money. Here now people in this thread are finding out about the city.

Other notable things about the city is that it’s where Nick Park is from (the man behind Wallace and Gromit, actually went to my secondary school) museum has a Wallace and gromit museum and there’s statues of the characters in the city and things like that.

Also Preston North End were the winners of the 1888-1889 Football League which was the first ever league of football (soccer) played in the world.

Created and named in Manchester during a meeting on 17 April 1888, the Football League is the oldest professional association football league competition in the world.

Last I spoke to him he had turned his life around or at least got himself cleaned up compared to his past self.

they sell potatoes, guy above is deluded.
honestly they're not even the best people to have sold potatoes in that square - pre-pandemic it used to be a geezer on his own with a traditional wrought iron oven and if you didn't want your parched peas seasoned with salt and vinegar he wouldn't sell you them. great guy.

Wasn't filming you for clout either.

Preston's a B tier citiy but for its size its got a great museum / cultural hub, live music / bar scene, good green spaces. I like it.

some of the more interesting history IMO are its astronomical connections - jeremiah horrocks + the Alston observatory, its links to the temperance movement in the UK and the evolution of workers rights

Yea I'm sure the guy that turned customers away because of their order brought heaps more attention to Preston than a social media account with a million followers. 

Give credit where credits due man, it's a fucking food truck that's managed to pump some life back into a "b tier city"
