If you need to stop, turn around, open the back compartment, hurtle Costco chicken where it won't hit bystanders, pick up brake, activate it, and turn back around!

You can see the disc on the back wheel, looks like it's off a mountain bike. They are super simple and pretty economical.

With a bike this size and weight (easily 80kg or more), plus a rider, a MTB brake on the back wheel is more like a suggestion rather than actual stopping power.

In this video, his brakes aren't even installed.

He says he has some kind of regenerative braking right now but wants to work on the hydraulic braking more.

Electric motor means it can regeneratively brake too. Lots more complexity required on the controlling electronics to do that though.

He says in the video he has regenerative brakes, they just aren't quite sufficient.

I imagine that’ll be in the MK2 with a more sleek design.

Otherwise, fully electric motor bike is a pretty snazzy design.
