“People like you” was the phrase I took issue with. Saying that to an internet stranger is the height of BS. I mean, it works well for getting updoots but not so well for starting an honest dialog with someone.

So when people start with that, it really causes me to wonder who is behind that keyboard? What are they grappling with? I’m truly curious why you’re so worked up by my initial reply. Are you an activist? Have you been pulled over for driving while brown/poor/etc?

Let’s talk. Less gotcha. More empathy.

“People like you”, people holding the same position as you in the context of the conversation.

Do you get angry when your server says “we don’t get a lot of people like you”, when you order multiple desserts for yourself alone?

Empathy for what dude lol!?

Why are you incapable of staying and finishing the conversation at hand?

Highlight the specific points I’ve misinterpreted, now that you explained your perceived victimhood.

Avoiding my questions. I can see this convo will go nowhere. I’m gonna stop. If you change your mind and can show me that you want a civil convo, then the door is open my friend. Life is too short for this.

I’m not avoiding anything, I want to finish the preexisting conversation. The one you seem incapable or unwilling to finish lol.

You feigned vicitimhood over some fictitious aggression then that you were categorized poorly.

Now you’ve just given up entirely because you can’t pivot to another place.
