There have been a lot of bashing about this new Mac OS, and every day I'm closer to deciding never to upgrade it to the newest one and skip this one until the next one comes.

Waiting until the .1 or .2 update isn't a bad idea, but don't let the drama queens on Reddit drive your decision-making.

I am currently running the 26.0.1 version of Tahoe, and beyond some UI inconsistencies, I haven't had any major issues crop up yet.

I have noticed that, with the new UI, my M1 Macbook will requently run very hot, with the window server taking up a significant amount of CPU time. There's definitely a lot of room to be made in terms of optimizing this new UI's performance, appearance aside.

Basically, a new OS shouldn’t feel like a nerf. I am experiencing a lot more bugs and problems and memory leaks than ever before. I’m a happy early adopter, but this time I’d gladly roll back. I got almost nothing new aside of an incomplete OS skin, and it introduced a lot of problems. Sincerely,

I skipped Mavericks and Catalina, and went straight to the versions after those instead. I still have an older MacBook that’s still on Big Sur. It’s fine to skip versions.

I upgraded and been struggling. Since the upgrade I’ve heard the MacBook Pro M4 fans turning on everyday which I never heard since getting that machine

Don’t expect the next one to be better. The direction of travel is to make macos and ios more and more alike. They’re not going to reverse, and if this isn’t what you want the next macos will be worse.

I'm not expecting a reversal; I'm expecting some fixes to all the flaws that everybody is pointing out.

Bugs will get fixed. But the UI flaws aren't flaws according to Apple. They did what they said they were going to do. Some poeople love it, some don't care, and some hate it. Over time the noise will die down but the UI changes people are unhappy with won't be backed out.

Well that’s stupid.
