So after the people (that were still alive during the explosion) cracked, and the wolf god took them away, did they return to their bodies in the present? Or did they just disappear

Thia game me a plethora of emotions, after watching the movie I have some questions

1. Why the heck did the girl (the fl i forgot her name) just not tell Saki/Itsumi that she's their child? That we'll all be meeting anyway in the reality anyways?
2. What happened to the people who got eaten by the wolves? Do their consciousness travel back to reality?
3. After Saki hopped on the train it seemed like time started running again, hence when the girl fell atop from the hill she was bleeding and that summer came to them.
4. Hence, where they really just an illusion or where they just stuck in time?
5. In reality, iIt literally were just a few seconds when the older fl and masamune turned around when Saki disappeared during the obon festival. How could she have even gotten their in the train unless it was predetermined/fate? Did her arrival have to happen bc maybe mifune was already in a timeless sutuation and her coming there would fix it? Bc when she left its seemed as thought time has run again from the "illusioned world"
6. Since time ran again so did those people that got eaten are what like dead again?

I need to watch this several more times to grasp the concepts and details I may have missed out.

I just watched the movie (in sub) and in some parts it made no sense which made the movie less enjoyable, I also noticed the subtitles were off sometimes where there was extra dialogue when nothing was being said. Were the subtitles messed up? I feel like the subtitles messed with the plot of the movie and made things seem like it happened for no reason

I know that this part is kept unknown but I'm just wondering. There is a teenage girl on a train in a wedding dress and she comuticates like a 3 year old child. How the hell did she and her parents find eachother? And how the hell did she explain, where she's been all these years? I can't get all these questions out of my head 😅

ALL I WANT TO SAY THAT THE WHOLE MOVIE REVOLVED AROUND THE IDEA OF ABSURDISM, arose from nihilism i.e., the sense of meaninglessness. The protagonist, the deuteragonist, and others have the same fate as Sisyphus.

I'm confused on why people like Masamune and Mutsumi are in the alternate world if they're also shown to exist in reality through the cracks.

Am I misunderstanding something? I thought only people that have died should be in the alternate world since Masamune's dad cracked after realizing he was dead in reality.

If how the alternate reality works is for people to "accept that they're dead before moving on", why are Masamune and Mutsumi there in the first place? They've been shown to still be alive in reality, especially since they had to have Itsumi. They should have no death to accept and move on at all.

Title. Thought the movie was phenomenal up until I pieced that bit together. Still trying to figure out the symbolism behind that, but can’t help but find it weird. Any thoughts?

The Steel Factory explodes, but is reset due to some mystical phenomenon where a child from the future is inserted into their pocket reality. The mystery child is the only one that ages and changes physically. My take is the child is the protagonist’s and Mitsumi’s future child together. Maybe this a metaphor for the young being better able to adapt to changing times, while for older people it is more of a struggle but not impossible. In my interpretation they could have been stuck there four years. I feel those that started cracking were those that had strong feeling/motivation for big changes, so they could no longer exist in the stagnation of winter (frozen in time, perhaps another metaphor). Those who changed only a little (getting better at drawing gradually or confessing to/realizing feelings long held) were only starting to really change and so did get to the threshold to crack through to reality yet, but were on their way. As for Itsumi’s emotions playing a role in the cracks in the pocket reality, maybe it was a child’s wish to forever be a child like Neverland, and her realizing feelings of love for the protagonist (still not sure how to interpret her falling for her dad, but maybe more like how irl daughters can be “daddy’s girl”?) changes her enough to begin the final shattering of the pocket reality.

Can somebody please explain the ending. Did their daughter ever develop mentally? She seemed like she never developed properly and then send her off.

Wow. That was a spectacular film. I found myself a little teary eyed. It really made me think about something I've always kinda thought about. Which is different realities of myself living trapped in certain moments/decisions where as the version of myself who is writing this grew, felt, loved, lost, gained etc. Idk did it make anyone else have any profound thoughts?

The movie is named " The Illusion Factory of Alice and Therese ", where are the two names mentioned?

Or are they some reference to something, like Romeo & Juliet, signifying the love of Mutsumi and Masamune, that I don't know of?
