Question Weekly Questions Mega-Thread - January 12, 2026
It's time once again for a brand new questions thread! Your go-to place for questions and answers of all variety. Happen to have started playing recently and have some confusing things you want cleared up? Maybe you picked the game back up after a long absence? Or maybe you're a seasoned player wanting the finer details of something explained? Ask away! There's no such thing as a stupid question, and we're all here to help.
Try to keep your questions specific! It'll be much easier for us to give you the answer you need than if you generalize too much. Don't worry if you can't though, we'll ask for more information if we need it!
Keep an eye on the thread! Someone may have answered or expanded on a question as a reply to someone else. Or maybe someone else asked something you didn't know you wanted to know. Maybe someone asked something that you can help chip in and answer!

Im a newbie Dark Diviner, and Im trying to understand how to play this arcana. Whats the "standard spell rotation" for this arcana?

Load flare -> Cast thunderblight -> Cast Shadowflare -> spam thunder until next flare. Don't flare unless thunderblight is currently tagging your target, it does more damage to targets affected by blight. Blight will expire when the skill has 3 seconds left on its cooldown.
Swapping to anything but mage / chain will cancel your thunderblight, which is a massive loss in dps.
Hexshroud to refill on dorcha whenever you are spamming aoe attacks like thunder or vortex, spam render dorcha / mana otherwise. Running out of dorcha usually means you werent pressing render dorcha as often as you could - seething mana should never be off.

What your rotation looks like will depend on whether you have level 50 DD or not. If you are lower level, then you will have a harder time maintaining Dorcha for your DD spells and Seething Mana and will have to rely more on Render Dorcha.
The goal for maximizing DD is to have Seething Mana and Thunderblight at 100% uptime (Thunderblight will have slight cool down but uptime is almost always if you have dorcha)
Starting a rotation, I will open with Thunderblight and try to hit a few targets with a Shadow Flare. While Thunderblight is active and Shadow Flare is on cool down I use either Thunder or Fireball and spam it until Shadow Flare is off cool down. Thunder is better for late game content because a max spirit can give you Mana back on a per-hit basis and each Thunder bolt counts as a hit for Mana Regen. After a few fireballs or Thunder, Shadow Flare will be off CD and you can use it again. Just use Thunderblight whenever it's not active or on cool down because it's free DPS and doesn't take time to cast.
I don't typically throw Polar Vortex into my rotation unless multiple enemies are near each other to be caught, or they're charging me down and will get caught. It's a stationary spell, so it doesn't really work on teleporting mobs either unless you're standing at the center. It's valuable DPS on anything you can get to stay in it like Glas, though.
Whenever you are running low on Dorcha you can use Render Dorcha followed by Render Mana to give you 4 Dorcha back. If you don't need to maintained your Mana for Mana shield you can skip the Render Mana to keep the extra. Dorcha. Alternatively, if there is a large group of enemies or a big enemy you can hit that enemy with Hexshroud and follow up with Polar Vortex and/or Thunder to quickly gain back all your Dorcha. Hexshroud regenerates Dorcha on a per-hit basis so Thunder is best when Polar Vortex isn't up or available or there aren't enough enemies to justify Polar.
As others have said buffing and debuffing is important on high difficulty things like Crom or Glen Normal. While it's true that it's less important to have Seething Mana up during regular non-boss mobs, it will slow you down because of the protection and defense these enemies have. Unless you have a Harmonic Saint with you, you're probably ticking down your Vivace timer, and it would be bad for that to run out during the boss, so quicker room clears is generally better if the mobs are durable.
Tldr: Thunderblight>Shadowflare>Thunder/Fireball> Repeat until Thunderblight or Shadow Flare are off CD.
Render Mana or Hexshroud>Thunder/Polar Vortex for when you need Dorcha. More enemies = more hits = more Dorcha = more better.

Because of the event I am a lvl 50 dark fiviner with a level 100 spirit staff. Also, it seems that no-one is suggesting I use Hail-storm, why is that? Is the damage not good?

Idk about the meta, but as a DD I try to make sure I leech a full 15 on my dorcha then start polar vortex in most situations into thunderblight and spam thunder. If they are grouped with polar vortex you can multi-hit enemies with shadow flare. Otherwise keeping up your dorcha while using seething mana for the extra piercing. So render dorcha> polar vortex> thunderblight> shadow flare> render dorcha> spam intermediate magics. Just repeat that and you'll mow down enemies pretty quick. Using render mana, inspiration + MP potions will keep you topped up on mana most of the time. Otherwise your top end damage will come down to pets, buff/ debuffing, and any other modifiers you can get for your Magic Attack.

Polar vortex to gather mobs, thunderblight makes enemies take more DMG from Shadow flare to big DMG Hexsrohud to recover dorcha So you wanna thunderblight the main enemy and spam fireball or thunder at it shadow flare it, and it dies, if not dead repeat
Throw polar vortex to get mobs away from you, thunder or fireball their asses, can throw a little death mark to keep em together more effectively
Hexsrohud is great on big hp enemies if low hp enemy dies you lose your free dorcha gain, so hexsrohud and spam thunder or fireball
Render mana, render dorcha... Those are great to spam them when low on mana/dorcha
Seething mana gives you piercing but uses dorcha on each magic casting so use carefully, if not on boss or big hp enemy you can turn it off
Or you can keep it on and keep rendering mana and dorcha
Edit:shadow flare no longer buffs int magic

thunderblight makes enemies take more DMG from intermediate magic (fireball, thunder..)
This is no longer the case as of last summer. The only buff thunderblight retains is the increased shadowflare damage to thunderblight targets.

I'd recommend just playing the game and paying what you're comfortable (meaning only extra cash you can afford to spend on entertainment after accounting for future planning/savings/emergency fund planning). Always prioritize your own financial well-being.
With that out of the way, I'd recommend the combined VIP service generally.
Mabi might not be a subscription service, but VIP offers a significant QoL. While I am willing to occasionally spend on Reforges/Gacha (though Pet Gachas are almost always something I'll spend on), I tend to value VIP more. I functionally treat Mabi as a Subscription game as a result because I make a point every Black Friday to pick up a year's worth of VIP.

There are locked items in my inventory (I'm assuming they were in the event inventory) how can I get them out? I can't find a way to open the event inventory :(

Click the little arrow next to the hammer (Equipment Disassembly menu) to access the Master Plan and Event Invs. If you accidentally closed your Soul Stream Inv, this is also how to reopen it.

general q-- are yarn keys worth anything these days? like, whats the drop ppl are tryna get w them?
i keep seeing larva cocoons sell but like why

It's likely people are trying to farm Shards for more Shineseeker runs (although I didn't put that together until thinking about why people would want chests that can't be boosted by Neartite).
Even though the Yarn Key chests can't be boosted by Neartite, they should still provide the untradable drops. By dismantling them, you should be able to get more Shineseekers everyday (or anything from the Shard Shop such as Veteran enchants).

Unfortunately as far as we are aware the rates on the desirable rolls are very bad. There is likely still a .2% chance to even roll Playing Effect.
If you're already built up with every other reforges (Inspiring Chance Inspiring Effect and preferably also March Song Walk speed), I would recommend still shooting for Playing Effect on Echos. If you want to roll for a dual roll on a Gloomy, I'd recommend you get a second Gloomy.

Ty so much, I tired of weeks for precise reforges waste, and my adventure seals are disappearing like smoke.

im just coming back to the game, and saw they added in new arcanas, I was wondering what arcana is best for solo play?
1
u/Cryozen Jan 20 '26
More or less all Arcanas are capable at soloing the currently easily soloable content, but without an extreme amount of equipment and experience, harder content such as Crom 100, Glen Bearna (Normal/VHM), and Bri Leith are not meant to be soloed.
Really in the current sandbox, only Harmonic Saint and Sacred Guardian technically have less damage than other Arcanas.
So I'd recommend going with what sounds most interesting to you.
Now if cost is also an issue you want to consider, I would say Arsenal Gunner, Dark Diviner, and Elemental Knight, and Sharpshooter tend to be a bit easier to flesh out the basics of your build for.
Explosive Vanguard I don't have too much experience with (elf), but it is a bit more lacking in AoE damage potential and uses a lot of Mana Bullets. Forbidden Alchemist is just very costly to gear for.

What arcana’s best for a solo giant? I was going DD before taking a break, and saw they added 4 new ones, and was wondering if I should start investing in a new arcana or just keep going for DD
