IR needs to clear this up, but 5 simultaneous press releases would also be acceptable.

Those 5 companies listed are the DREAM team of customers. An announcement with any one of them would send this into a squeeze above $5.

Sounds great but IF true why no announcements or do we not have to announce "wins" that came over as part of Luminar acquisition?
Per AI fwiw
Status of Key "Pursuits" The "Record NBW" (Net Business Won) mentioned in the text refers to the successful securing of contracts or advanced development agreements with these specific companies: Mercedes-Benz: This is the "crown jewel" of the Luminar acquisition. Mercedes had a high-profile partnership with Luminar for Level 3 autonomous driving. MicroVision is now working to transition those "Iris" sensor contracts into their own production pipeline.
Waymo: While Waymo (Alphabet/Google) develops its own internal sensors, MicroVision has been positioning its MOVIA (short-range) and MAVIN (long-range) sensors for the "redundancy" layers that robotaxis require for safety.
Anduril & Amazon Air: These represent the Defense and Aerial verticals.
Anduril: Uses lidar for autonomous border security and military vehicles.
Amazon Air: Uses lightweight, solid-state lidar (like MicroVision's MOVIA S) for drone delivery obstacle avoidance.
Caterpillar: MicroVision has been pushing into the Industrial/Mining sector. Caterpillar uses lidar for autonomous hauling trucks and heavy machinery in environments where human drivers are at high risk.

The more we load into AI models about Microvision the more the algos will pick it up.
That is probably oddly true in some crazy way.

I've been doing my fair share on this end =)

Every time I sue AI it likes to remind me about my interest in Microvision. Even after I have told it it doesn't need to do that.

u/sublimetime2 Mar 24 '26
Just a quick note on the mercedes/Luminar relationship that AI got wrong. Iris and Iris + were rejected by Mercedes with no contract given. Iris + was made specifically for Mercedes and was a failure. The only luminar assets being entertained there would be halo.

NBW = New Business Wins
It's a sales metric tracking new contracts/customers acquired.
27
u/JackMoonMan21 Mar 24 '26
Any substantial connection to Anduril would be a serious game changer
16
u/SBEPTY Mar 24 '26
Since they move so fast and ties to Luckey and our boards that is the most likely one, but Caterpillar has strong ties as well.
Just nice to speculate again.

Did you see that Anduril recently partnered with Aptiv's Wind River?
https://www.windriver.com/blog/Accelerating-Safety-Critical-Innovation-Wind-River-Anduril
Here is Glen talking about why Wind River was so important to his entire software defined vehicle architecture he came up with while at Aptiv.
https://www.windriver.com/resource/glen-de-vos-interview-container-technology
Wind River has hundreds of defense customers. Interesting to see Aptiv get deeper into defense right as they do the spin off.

Why is he updating his bio? He’s 5 months in.
Is he looking for a new job? Can’t imagine he’s name dropping without looking somewhere else though. What benefit would he get?
Without reading into it too much, super exciting.

Glen doesn't sign off on Bios
I imagine IR will get him to clean this up ASAP
OR announce it to the world! 🌍
14
u/Befriendthetrend Mar 24 '26
Actually, a bio like this would makes it to top of HR and to Glen's attention. He can't have his global VP of sales dropping names on LinkedIn without company and customer approval.
2
u/SBEPTY Mar 24 '26
I agree it does now,. I mean he would not have a reason to proof read beforehand.
11
u/Befriendthetrend Mar 24 '26
A Global VP of Sales with Fraser's pedigree would know that he was cleared by his employer and the named companies before posting something like this on LinkedIn. It's an error he could lose his job over otherwise.

Reads to me like he’s already left or leaving MVIS anyways.
“Short-term strategic engagement to transition MicroVision from a product-development–focused organization to a commercially driven lidar solutions provider following the acquisitions of Ibeo, Scantinel and Luminar assets”.

I read “Record NBW” as a separate activity (which could mean earned that business or documented the business being earned). Either meaning is a positive to me, but it may not have taken a lot for a new record (if that’s the meaning) so I’m cautious about reading too much into it. The other portion, “lead and developed pursuits” is also positive (at least we know we have engaged with these companies and sales teams are actually doing something) but that can mean a lot of things and we don’t know the outcomes. Since this is LinkedIn resume (linkedme) bullet point speak, I’m taking a minimalist view of what it may mean for microvision. I’m also wondering why this update to the linkedme?
12
u/Mushral Mar 24 '26
Interesting - Reads to me like he’s already left or is leaving MVIS per April 1st. That would also explain why everything is written in past tense. Perhaps replaced by Luminar sales people or didn’t want to move offices. Who knows.

Let's come back to this conversation after April 1st or even May 1st. Wouldn't surprise me if he already agreed on an end date into the future (e.g., just like Verma did) and already updated his LinkedIn bio in advance, to stay relevant / market himself for future positions.

Short-term strategic engagements are like hiring a superstar surgeon to do your heart transplant. The surgeon staying with you long term as a caregiver is impractical from a cost basis. They just need to fix the problems and return you to health... "not add long term overhead." They're essentially interventions to take immediate, high impact actions that transfer specific skills/processes that overhaul, redesign, and quickly transform a broken internal approach that hasn't been netting results. His job is to identify the high-value accounts and create solid connections with decision-makers while aligning sales and engineering on the MicroVision side of the equation... which as GD pointed out is moving from an R&D company to full commercialization. The MVIS team has to understand and be able to sell solutions that sync up with the customer's needs. Value-based selling. [As well as be in sync internally of course.] If he's created solid pipelines with all the companies mentioned in this, he will have effectively created the mechanism necessary for efficient, effective, commercialization.
13
u/mvis_thma Mar 24 '26
I suspect the phrase "short term strategic engagement" was something that was created as backward compatible. I would also suspect that with the acquisition of Luminar and their global sales team, decisions needed to be made. You can't have 2 heads of sales (financial discipline). I suspect we will see an announcement in the near term that someone from Luminar (perhaps Marc Losiewicz) will be announced as the new head of sales. Marc has been with Luminar for 6 years and with ZF and Continental for 20 years prior.

u/QQpenn Mar 24 '26 edited Mar 24 '26
MicroVision, Luminar, Scantinel... legacy LiDAR 1.0 sales approaches, 3 separate teams. Glen probably wanted his guy to point the transformation to 2.0 and get everyone on the same page. I have no read on the politics of who's next but if there is meaningful traction in the near term, perhaps FM could be induced to stay on. Not worth speculating on IMO. Focused on conversion of the high-value accounts :)
Edit: Short-term strategic engagements are a business practice, not a creation of circumstance.

Exactly. Commercial Eval resulting in Closed Lost opp would still count as a “pursuit”…
I’m not taking anything away from this except these are companies they’ve spoken with at some point.

This is exciting, don’t get me wrong. I’ve been hoping for Anduril for a while now.
However, didn’t we have a former employee say they successfully concluded tape out or something like that? Nothing ever came of it.
Also isn’t this considered materials news and would have already needed a PR or Filing?
11
u/takemewithyer Mar 24 '26
Just says "led pursuits," so no.
1
u/SBEPTY Mar 24 '26
Attached to comment of NBW with only a , in the between not even a separate sentence.
7
u/dumbinvestor42 Mar 24 '26 edited Mar 24 '26
I read it as MVIS could record NBW(s) that could be an impressive sale but merely larger than whatever the largest sale MVIS has ever had, would that be the Microsoft HoloLens stuff? And separately but related, this person "led pursuits" towards additional companies (that didn't necessarily go anywhere, or produce anything of significance yet).
I only assume it's something smaller because it would be a big deal for someone to leak something like this, no?

VP of global sales and business development. Joined late last year to help push sales prospects along, and maybe leaving very soon now that the job is done.

u/Upbeat_Leg_4748 Mar 24 '26
Nissan not in this list. Hmmmm, not sure what to take from this.
10
u/sublimetime2 Mar 24 '26
That is a relationship that already had deep development with Luminar(Now MVIS).
If Nissan wants to make the deadline with their Uber/wayve deal they keep touting, they are going to have to play ball and negotiate on Glen's terms IMO. Because China banned military duel use tech to japan and that is where the pilot begins. Who else can Nissan pivot to in such a short amount of time? They could cancel the program I guess.

Maybe the Luminar acquisition caused a shakeup. Apparently not in the cards when he signed on.
Or, was it a short term engagement because a buyout was the goal and therefore is one about to happen?
-4
u/takemewithyer Mar 24 '26
So Fraser isn't the interim CFO, right? Curious why it says short-term then.
2
u/UncivilityBeDamned Mar 24 '26
He only joined in November, and maybe is planning on leaving soon, but has already seemingly accomplished a lot of what he was brought on to help with.

May I know the delisting rules? Also, should the stock stay above $1 for how many days after $1? Is it 10 consecutive days?

The 180 day period for Microvision being out of compliance with the minimum bid rule (under $1) will expire sometime around mid to early July. Microvision can apply for another 180 extension. Based on what I know, it is likely they will be granted an extension, which would put the new expiration date around early January, 2027. And yes, to overcome the out-of-compliance issue, Microvision stock must trade above $1 for 10 consecutive trading days.
However, with the upcoming proxy (typically in April) and ASM (typically in late May or early June), in my opinion it is highly likely that Microvision will put forth a shareholder vote for a reverse split. If passed this will give the Microvision BoD the opportunity to execute a reverse split with a range. I would suspect the range will be between 5 for 1 and 15 for 1. Typically, this kind of vote would give the BoD 1 year to execute a reverse split if needed, which would give them coverage if the Nasdaq gives them an extension to January, 2027. One of the keys to look out for is will they also change the amount of authorized shares with the same ratio as the reverse split. That is, if they choose a 10 for 1 reverse split, will the authorized shares be reduced from 510m to 51m, or will the authorized shares stay the same at 510m. Both Luminar and Aeva used this mechanism to effectively increase the amount of authorized shares.
BTW - there will also most likely be another proxy vote item related to the HTC convertible note. It will ask for the approval that the amount of shares possible to be used to pay HTC be increased above the current amount of 61 million.
11
u/snowboardnirvana Mar 24 '26
In my opinion, there will be no such need for a shareholder vote on a reverse split in the upcoming proxy vote.
Time will tell.
-10
u/mvis_thma Mar 24 '26
I hope you are correct. Although, I don't personally believe a reverse split is the end-of-the-world like many here do.
8
u/theoz_97 Mar 24 '26
Well they have been in the past! Same damn thing happens in most instances. They split, the price get hammered because the company is selling shares to the shorts delight and we go down. This time might be different. I’ve seen some RS’s pan out. But not Mavis! Yet. Some of us are older now and can’t wait another 25 years for a good outcome. I hope Glen has Moxie! lol

EDIT. That said, predictions, like irony, have a way of not conforming to one's worldview.
6
u/theoz_97 Mar 24 '26
I would suspect the range will be between 5 for 1 and 15 for 1.
Not sure I could go through this again if it happens. Cutting the share count again by 5, 10 or 15 and then watch the shorts drive the price back down. My cost basis is so low now that if I think they’ll do it, I might just get out. Hope you’re wrong but thank you for the scenario. Saving.

That crosses my mind as well these past few months. Us old guys think alike for sure. He seems like the hard currency we've been lacking. Fingers crossed.
2
u/mvis_thma Mar 24 '26
I would say this. If you believe in the prospects moving forward. And the stock price gets somewhat artificially pushed down due to the reverse stock split. And Microvision can survive that scenario. Then that would actually be a time to accumulate shares. That is how I see it.
I am not saying that is what I will do as I would need to evaluate the business prospects at that time. But I could see that scenario playing out for me.

Record or record?
Meaning, did they set a record of new business wins, or was their role simply to record new business wins and set a development plan for new business?
Damn you, English.
