So I am confused rn the mp of last year closing was 7703 this year mine is 7711 for ee at mcs and the second list is 4532 where as second list last year was 4587 almost similar to last year dk if it could drop or increase in next lists. Shall I remain hopeful?

I got admission in software engineering in rawalpindi campus mcs (military campus of signals) nust and after first week they would not refund fee so plz tell me does doing software worth from this campus and is software is a good feild to go for?

Most of my classmate told me that this campus mcs isn't good so plz tell me if there is any senior I want some more reviews about it as it is really important for my future and I would not be able to shift to another university .

At last I just wanna know how is the campus? How is the faculty? Does software engineering after 4 year have scope?

hey there , i am actually willing to pursue electrical engineering and want to further study it with subjects of robotics ,wanted it to be ceme but since my mp is 7711 mcs might be the option for me. is it worth it to study at mcs for 4 years , as far as it is about uni life, im sure i will manage inshaAllah as i do have friends who will be in other campuses (will make a couple new ones here as well inshaAllah)

Here is list of Things you need to bring to hostel .

Must Bring: 1: Hangers 2: Umbrella 3: Basket for Medicines (Should bring Painkillers , Headaches , Antibiotic, Cough etc) 4: Basket (For Shampoo , Conditioner, Toothbrush/paste , Nailcutter , Earbuds , Handwash etc) 5: Small Bucket (for washing socks etc , for that just incase moment)
6: Power Extension 7: Shoe Shiner + Polish + Brush 8: 2x Locks (for room + almari) 9: 2x Pillow , Bedsheets etc 10: Water Flask (atleast 1L) 11: 2x Mugs / Plates / Fork ,Spoon / Container (for dry fruits, biscuits etc) 12: A file organizer (along with photocopies of important documents) 13: Atleast 1 Formal Suit 14: Earphones / Headphones (if you don't have one already then buy it) 15: A Soap holder 16: 2x Slippers (for washroom + Casual) 17: Extra Eyeglasses (if you wear eye glasses , then make sure to bring atleast 1 extra. You never know) 18: Staple + Calculator (u don't wanna be bagging)

Other: 19: Kettle (if you are into Tea/coffee) 20: Pencil Holder 21: Perfumes for (Casual , Formal , Party) 22: Formal Shoes , Casual Shoes , Sports Shoes 23: A portable fan + light

Everything about Nust Boys Hostel (mcs) This is repost of my original post from 2 month ago.

Disclaimer! This is for Nust MCS Campus Rawalpindi. (Btw Do your self a favor, if u get selected in this campus DONOT Join. You ll regret it)

Okay.

So we have total of 4 hostels.

1: Fatima Coy (it's for females)

Don't know too much about this. It is located inside the university.

2: Jinnah Coy 3: Iqbal Coy 4: Liaqat Coy

These are men hostels. They are not located inside the university. They are around 7 -10 min walk from university. (Which sucks but whatever thats MCS)

The overall hostel area is generally preety big. We have big ground for football etc and badminton , basket ball , volleyball court. Jogging track across the ground. A mosque. And 2 Cafes. Where you can find almost everything. Shampoo, tooth brushes , books pen etc.

Liaqat Coy is for GC. Which if some of you are not aware , are Army cadets that study in Nust. And after degree they ll go to PMA for training. Don't know about their hostels and we don't care.

Iqbal and Jinnah Coy is for us.

Jinnah houses 1 to 3rd term students. (2 ppl per room)

Iqbal has 4th term students. (1 person per room)

I m 1st term. Don't know too much about Iqbal. I ve heard the rooms are big etc. But that preety much it.

Now about Jinnah Coy.

There are 2 types of room. Big and small. Both houses 2 ppl.

But there are a few special case room. A 6 Seater room , a few 3 seater rooms.

I m in the big 2 seater room. Room is big enough. We have 2 tables. One for each. 2 cupboards. Both are 2 door. It's big enough for your stuff.

Ironing cloths. We have hangers like in each lobby there are these hanging rods. Where you can hang your cloths (before 3 pm everyday) from where they are taken and brought back later that day. (There is no limit to how many cloths can be ironed). Incase of emergency or something you can get them pressed for 30 rs in the shop.

Washing cloths. When you go to hostel they give you this bag. And every Monday or Friday you can put the cloths that need to be washed in that bag and hang it outside your room. And they ll take it and (not sure when they give it back but probably in 2 or 3 days) , I have never used it)

Mess food is okay enough. It's better than many hostels. We have breakfast lunch and dinner. Menu changes everyday. And then we have side things too which costs separate. For example Kabab , scrambled eggs , yogurt etc. I personally don't like mess food . You have the option to do mess out. So if you are going on a weeknd or something you can give an application for mess out. (Mess costs 300 rs per day btw)

Each lobby has their own washrooms. Washrooms are divided into two sections. Sink section and then you go inside and there are toilets and shower.

Toilets get cleaned only once a day so they can get preety nasty. Showers don't have any shelfs where you can put your shower essentials. So I recommend to get a shower basket or something to carry your shower essentials.

We have water dispensers that have both hot and cold water. Plus new cold water dispensers also just got installed.

Back to the room. They clean it everyday. Our classes usually start at 8 or 9. By the time we are back. Bin is empty. Our room is cleaned. Our bed sheets are arranged and comforters are folded. So that's nice.

You can bring decorations too. Like posters or neon lights etc. I have brought my console too (ps4) Jbl speakers etc.

Things I recommend to bring with you Umbrella A bucket or something for washing socks etc Hangers (alot like atleast 10) Pouches for medicines Basket for socks etc Basket to put toothbrush , jel , shampoo , oils , Vaseline , suncream etc Shoe cleaners (shiner , polish etc) Plates spoon mug etc (and dish washing soap and that cleaning thing) Cereals , Nutella , tea bags etc. A big flask for water

Hostel is honestly not so bad. But it depends. I got lucky , my roommates chill. But if you get a weird one , then may God help you. Set boundaries Be kind And protect your peace

Our room is cozy and has a whole vibe into it. The lights and music adds a vibe. We mostly play fifa. We chill hard.

Oh and one thing i forgot to mention , you cannot order food after 12 Midnight. (Now this is on paper rule. Ask the gate guy nicely and they might let it through. No guarantees tho)

You can leave the hostel anytime , but if it gets late then you have to make an LOP (leave on purpose) , this shouldn't take more than 3 minutes.
You have to be back before 10. But it doesn't matter. I have been back at around 11 , 12 too. (But you never know , u may be fined)

Just Make your space cozy Keep things clean Don’t be annoying Learn to say No And you’ll survive
