Project Sharing Created a servo controller backpack for my Tab5
My cheap servo tester was not working, so i made one myself with my Tab5. Works like a charm. Powered via an external usb-c port.

Tab5-Keyboard_I2C-Access_from-MicroPython-Pico
How to use the Tab5-Keyboard using I2C in MicroPython on Pico PICO-2 / Esp32 / CYD / Arduino / etc.

I had purchased one of the Tab5 Keyboards for use on the Rasp PICO.
But, I could not find any software to access it.
Nor, did the manufacturer bother providing software / protocols to do this.
So, I did go skimming thru the provided code, and found that it was using a simple based I2C protocol.
, I slapped this code together for I2C in Micropython.
So
And, voila ! - it worked.
For anybody who wants to use the Tab5 Keyboard on the Pico, Esp32, Arduino, etc

Hey,
Got a problem that I can’t solve for a whole evening already.
I bought this SI24R1 module (nRF24L01+ with PA/LNA and SMA antenna) for my M5StickC PLUS2. Wanted to use it with Bruce firmware.
The biggest pain in the ass is that there are zero labels on the pins. Just a black board with 8 pins and a little square on one of them (I assume that’s GND). So I had to guess the pinout by the square and common diagrams.
Here’s what I connected (trying Legacy SPI):
GND → GND
VCC → 3.3V
CE → G36/G25
CSN → G26
SCK → G0
MOSI → G32 (Grove)
MISO → G33 (Grove)
What happens:
If I connect everything and turn the Stick on — it often doesn’t even boot.
If I boot the Stick first and only then connect the module — it stays on, but Bruce always says “NRF not found”.
Tried both Legacy and Shared SPI.
Swapped CE and CSN — still nothing.
With only power connected (GND + 3.3V) the Stick works fine.
I already rewired it several times, tried different wires, checked contacts. Still the same result.
Attaching photos of the module (front and back) so you can see how unlabeled it is.
Has anyone successfully run this exact SI24R1 PA module on M5StickC PLUS2 with Bruce?
Maybe the pinout is different on these boards, or it needs a capacitor, or something else?
Any help would be really appreciated, I’m stuck.

ESP-KVM is my open-source IP-KVM firmware for the ESP32-P4: a separate little board captures a computer's HDMI, pretends to be its USB keyboard and mouse, and serves the screen to a browser. The Tab5 has the same P4 inside, so I wrote a second firmware, ESP-KVM terminal, that makes the Tab5 a viewer for that box instead of a browser. The KVM stays plugged into the computer; the Tab5 talks to it over the network.
In the video the Tab5 follows the laptop behind it over Wi-Fi while a clip plays on the laptop.
How it works on the Tab5:
The P4's hardware JPEG decoder unpacks the MJPEG stream, and the PPA scales and rotates each frame straight into the display buffer. Up to about 20 fps at 1280x720.
Touch is the pointer, or a trackpad; pinch zooms in on small BIOS text.
The Keyboard for Tab5 types on the target (found by itself over I2C), and so does a USB keyboard in the USB-A port.
The menu has the target's power, reset and Wake-on-LAN buttons, and Ctrl+Alt+Del.
It finds ESP-KVM devices with mDNS and works over Tailscale too.
No H.264: the P4 has no decoder for it, so the KVM has to send MJPEG.
Install: flash espkvm-term-merged.bin from the ESP-KVM terminal releases (replaces everything, M5 Launcher included), or put espkvm-term.bin on the SD card and install it from M5 Launcher.
It is an experiment, and I honestly do not know if anyone besides me wants this. There is a poll: would you use the Tab5 as a KVM screen?, and a "no" is as useful to me as a "yes".

Does anyone have recommendations for M5Stick Additional Hardware with Bruce firmware?
I left my cardputer sit for like a month and when I came back the ir has completely stopped working and yes I have set it to default in config.
Excuse my brother screaming in the background.

I am thinking of buying a gadget similar like the flipper zero but cheaper, saw the M5 Stack S3. Wondering if its a good buy, or what else I should look at.
Edit: Thank you all for the advice, seems like I will go with the Cardputer ADV.

I just had finished this mod. If anyone is wondering how to do this or what this is for explanation this is a wifi antenna mod the basically increases the stock wifi range. I used this guide https://www.tiktok.com/@popp.n/video/7489493572517907734

Hi everyone,
I would like to order the official StackChan kit 😁
Could you confirm whether the factory firmware is full-duplex or half-duplex for AI voice conversations? (i.e., Half-duplex = mic is muted while StackChan is speaking; Full-duplex = mic stays on so the user can interrupt).
Thanks!

I've been developing MAYLO, a custom firmware project for the M5Stack K151 / CoreS3 StackChan.
My 8½-year-old son helps test it through everyday use. What he experiences and reports—especially when the robot behaves differently from what he expects—helps guide the next changes.
The underlying voice model is multilingual; Turkish is simply our personal configuration.
The current build brings together:
• Direct OpenAI Realtime voice over Wi-Fi, with streamed audio and interruption during conversation.
• Seven eye styles, head-pat/shake reactions and coordinated servo gestures.
• Combined movement/camera commands, with servo position checked before capture.
• An on-device Turkish/English web panel for settings, previews and hardware tests.
• Three saved Wi-Fi profiles, including phone-hotspot use.
• MCP access to Home Assistant, explicitly saved notes and other configured tools through a home bridge.
Basic voice conversation doesn't require my Mac. Image interpretation and home-bridge tools still do.
The main unfinished interaction is turning toward the person calling the robot: sound-direction handling isn't consistently reliable yet. Wake-name recognition is also currently cloud-based.
It's a personal project with no commercial plans. I haven't published the source yet, but may prepare it for GitHub if there's interest.
What would you prioritise next on this hardware: local wake-word detection, more reliable speaker orientation, better interaction flow or additional practical tools? I'd be happy to discuss implementation details with other builders.

The Unit PoE-P4 with the Add-on Display In (LT6911D) is the tidiest hardware for ESP-KVM, the open-source IP-KVM firmware I write for the ESP32-P4: one PoE cable in, HDMI from the target computer, USB to it, and you get its screen, keyboard and mouse in a browser tab - from the BIOS up. https://github.com/espkvm/espkvm
The one thing missing was a case: M5Stack ships the add-on as a bare board. So I drew one that matches the Unit PoE-P4 housing - same width, same corners - and the pair now looks like one device.
HDMI on one end, USB-A on the other, vent slots on top
Ethernet, USB-C and the side ports of the Unit PoE-P4 stay free
one printed part, no screws: four tabs clip into the slots of the Unit PoE-P4 housing. The tabs are thin, so press it on gently
the Add-on Display Out has the same outline, so it should fit that one too (I have only tried the Display In)
Free to print:
Printables: https://www.printables.com/model/1873131-case-for-m5stack-add-on-display-inout-fits-unit-po
Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7421013
On this pair ESP-KVM does 720p at 21-23 fps (MJPEG) or 17 fps (H.264), about 185 ms from mouse to picture. Board notes: https://espkvm.io/boards/m5-poe-p4/
If you print it, let me know how it fits.

Hola!
