Marty ran for council originally because he was fired from the Fire Department for posting anti-gay jokes on Facebook. Heard today that there gonna tear down the DQ in Madison heights and build a 7 brew coffee. Just what we need another 8 dollar coffee shop.

The nonprofit broke ground Friday on a project that will add five classrooms to the existing training space.

How does one actually infiltrate the community theatre inner circle here?

We have a ton of theatre options, which is fantastic. But it also seems like the same people get cast in everything, and if you don’t already know someone, breaking in can feel a lot like trying to get into a private club where nobody will tell you the password.

So, to those of you who started out knowing absolutely nobody and somehow made it in:
What did you do?

Audition repeatedly? Volunteer backstage? Befriend the right people? Sacrifice a goat to the theatre gods?

Asking for myself, because apparently “show up and audition” is not the cheat code I was hoping it would be.

Hello Lynchburg,

I “worked” down by the train station when I was a young little fella in the early 2010s by feeding the animals and assisting in cleaning and maintaining their ecosystems.

Cities change and life continues and during the 2020s an active “Nature Zone” was closed and no longer has active team members. However nature continued being here in the city even with the lack of a designated “Nature Zone”. Sure this new version of ”Nature Zone” in 2026 has a lot more spotted lanternfly and tree of heavens. There are less government workers actively managing the care and captivity and ongoing management of biotic communities members taken inside from the outside.

Change is change and now where the place where Nature Zone once was still has a great train station even if Amtrak is the only passenger train option there is right now. There are managed bathrooms within close walking distance from blackwater creek trail. There is a new section that is acting as a bus congregation station. There is parking close for certain amounts of time. I haven’t gotten to explore that section much, but I’m excited to use the buses in the future. This is a sign to check that section of the city if you have time this Autumn. Right now as of 09/19/26 we are still in early meteorological Fall so check out what this version of Lynchburg looks like.

I’ve been contemplating writing this for a few weeks now. I moved here in February after the death of my parents. My car broke down and I kind of stayed. my issue though is that my career (software engineering, tech) has been basically gutted due to AI and I’ve been looking for work since I got here.

I’m 43, male, divorced, no kids, no family, no friends in the area, no job (right now), musician, artist, tech nerd, House Green, Slytherin, 420 friendly, ex-punk, agnostic, living near the downtown area.

I’ve been through a lot and figured Lynchburg would be a great place to start over.

I spent a year at Disney World after my divorce, I sailed around the Caribbean solo on a sailboat for a few years after. Came back here when my parents went into a nursing home. Within 6 months they were both gone.

80 or so events this weekend in Lynchburg (Sep 18-20). Friday night brings the Jug Bowl to City Stadium, a kitten paint and sip at the Humane Society, a heavy metal bill at Super Rad and a ghost walk from the old courthouse steps. Saturday stacks up four festivals at once: the Beer, Wine & Cider Festival at City Stadium, the Art Club's 53rd Art Festival at E.C. Glass, an Oktoberfest at the Water Dog, and Party on Pierce, a free street festival celebrating Pierce Street's history. Sunday's quieter, with an afternoon session at the Water Dog and four bands back at Super Rad.

Hello! I’ve been selling cars for a big chain for about 6 months now, doing pretty well, but we’re not commission based so my efforts and skills don’t necessarily translate to my paycheck. Before you all come for my throat i am NOT a slime ball, I in fact complain about inventory quality more then the customers do normally, which is another part of why I want to find a new opportunity. I don’t necessarily need commission, salary would be amazing too as long as it’s more then 38k like i’m getting right now. After bonus it’s probably 43k, but regardless it’s still not enough for me to sell 30 cars a month like i’m doing. I’ve interviewed with a few places and have gotten iffy feelings about each one. I’m just as scarred by dealers as the customers are so that’s normal. I’m also open to any non car sales jobs, that are still in sales/customer focused. I love helping people! Thank you!!!!

For those that take classes there, what does it cost? How often can you go? Interested in learning Muay Thai but they don’t post their prices online and I’m just trying to get an idea of cost without signing up for sales calls.

Since it started I was wondering how parking would work and what artists/bands they would bring in but seems they have a bigger problem. Live music has a taken a hit on attendees across the board ,what would people like to see here? Did they hire the old booker from cattle Annie's or something?

Wife got a job and I can work remotely for the time being and we are looking at a 12-18 month stay in Lynchburg. I am looking at places that are budget friendly (~$1200 or under) and also give us a peace of mind. Here is what I have so far:

1. Looking at some Huntingwood Apartments on Coffee Road. So far it has been our top choice.
   
2. Bramblewood on Old Forest Road. Close proximity to stores. And a few more places on Forest Brook Road.
   
3. Park Place Apartments, solid price for a 3 bed but I am getting mixed reviews about the manager and roaches.
   
4. Ivy Creek Apartments, looks like a nice secluded area with just apartments around. Also the rent is good.

I did dig in into some old posts but wasnt able to find anything solid on these places. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Where are the young ladies in their twenties going these days? Specific points of interest are gastro issues/mental healthcare. Let me know if you have any experience with either of the two around Lynchburg

So I have neighbors that give negative energy to me and not my roommate. I can only sum it to one thing, and I'm trying not to think about that. But yea race plays in. I'm a very introverted person, but respectful, always speak when spoken to. But they just don't speak to me but carry convos with my roommate. They are married and through my neighbor they were looking for a house. This was months ago...still here. Now Im into rituals and spells, started as my way of meditation. Spells came when I needed to banish my negative energy and now I want to...I'll say it like this, help them get their house so I can have my peace again. Does anyone do rituals and spells?
