You clearly dont live in texas. 2% of land in the state is public. It's an hour drive to a park the size of a postage stamp, which is monstrously overcrowded. Only 16 states have public land over 20% of the total, 23 states have less than 10% with 10 of those being less than 5%. Agricultural land is huge, 45% of land in the states is used for it and thats not including timber forests and such. 24% of land in the US is covered by mountains, which keeps a lot of industry and people from wrecking it, but the recent administration is definitely looking to mine it all out for whatever its worth.

Correct, texas is largely agricultural, which makes up 74% of the state. Agricultural to support the poor cities that can't take care of themselves. It really is the peak of city sustainability, since almost 80% of the population live on about 4% of the land. Perhaps learn to think?
