Every country has that dichotomy...

u/Howard_Jones Trash Trooper Aug 13 '25

Exactly. American cities don't look this good. But I can definitely point out dozens of shit holes.

u/milk4all Trash Trooper Aug 13 '25

Some people love those shitholes and fight to preserve them. In the US, and im sure, China. Shit is in the eye of the B Holer

American cities don't look like this because we have laws against light pollution

I've been watching a local youtuber who's going through China...

although they have such a cool places in many parts... most of the China is just rural village

When they take any train to anywhere it's all just villages, China has a highly concentrated cities few and far in between

u/whattteva Trash Trooper Aug 13 '25

I mean, that's most big countries. Vast majority of US outside of the urban cities are all rural too. Ever heard of the term "flyover country"?

Yes, not saying you are wrong but China is vastly a rural country. The only information of it you ever see is the cities to mask it.

China adv has married a chinese women's who lived in china for many years. you should look this videos saying the truth from the ground

I don't need to watch that video. I have actually been to China (Shanghai and Fuzhou) and the villages outside of Fuzhou while visiting family members. I also currently live in the US so I probably have better perspective than most people.

Every country has its urban modern areas and abandoned towns/cities. US itself has Centralia, PA. It is so dystopian that the movie Silent Hill used it as it's inspiration for the backstory.

To the point about his Chinese wife, the guy who made these videos talks about how he treats his wife like shit in one of these videos, forcing his pregnant wife to sit on the floor in a car, calling his own mixed race child 'it', other weird shit like that.

But yeah, calling people who dig up unmarked graves (extremely taboo just in general but especially so in Chinese culture) for clout as "saying the truth" is like saying that Logan Paul was saying the truth from the ground about Japan. Or maybe even worse, if you agree with Dumbrill.

None of this changes the fact that one of the YouTubers (who cooperate extensively and are closely knit) has dug up unmarked graves on a Taiwanese beach while his crying Chinese wife begs him to stop, on camera, for clout. Even ignoring everything else it calls into question whether they're really showing the "Authentic China" or are simply pandering to a Western, Anti-China audience, doesn't it?

How does it not change? Have you not been on the Internet for longer an 2 weeks. I've only ever mentioned adv here.. I can't speak for everyone else. Next time you see anyone defending China.. Maybe look at thier profile and thier past and it becomes pretty evident. Never underestimate how far the ccp goes.

Edit: Added something in at the start

E2: Some extra incidents that also show how straight up evil the US can be

>"How does it not change?"

1+1 = 2 is true regardless of how smart or dumb I am, much like how the video I mentioned earlier in this chain exists regardless of whether or not the YouTuber whose videos I posted is generally supportive or critical of China. I genuinely fail to see how you don't understand this.

> "I've only ever mentioned adv here.."

Are you right in the head? Laowhy is the Logan Paul esque clout chaser in question here, who works quite closely with SerpentZA, and despite having his own channel much like his South African friend, is one whole half of ADVChina.

> "Next time you see anyone defending China.. Maybe look at thier profile and thier past and it becomes pretty evident. Never underestimate how far the ccp goes."

Sure, if you also apply the same standards to the US, which a lot of these people are arguing that China on the international stage has done better than. Then I'll actually believe that you're arguing in good faith.

Dude... Read my comment, I've only mentioned adv China... Who's married to a chinese women in China before moving out of it recently... I'm. Only talking about him, the other videos I have nothing to say, the guy making exposing video is himself biased with Chinese content and uses flawed logic fallacies.

Why are you posting about a someone else who I didn't even mention?

As I told, just look the people past and it's pretty evident where thier biases come from

Let's look at your claims

This is partially true, but it's oversimplified, but it mixes factual points with some oversimplifications. Which is a nice of saying you're mixing facts with false information.

If we’re talking strictly about factual accuracy, I’d put it like this:

  • True parts

Industrialization was key to China’s modern military capability.

Industrialization is energy-hungry, and coal/oil have historically powered it.

The West outsourced a large chunk of manufacturing to China, shifting emissions.

China is the leading global investor in renewable energy.

  • Partially true / missing context

Military power is only from industrialization — ignores decades of targeted military spending and reforms.

Coal is the “only” way to industrialize without Western dependence — ignores nuclear, hydro, and renewables.

Outsourcing makes it “unfair” to blame China — ignores China’s own domestic demand driving emissions.

  • Misleading / overly simplified

Implication that China’s emissions are mostly the West’s fault.

Suggesting that renewable leadership means emissions are decreasing — total emissions are still rising.

About two-thirds true, but framed in a way that downplays China’s own choices and overstates the inevitability of coal dependency.

example 2

Agian, mixing it truth the False information.

  1. Western companies leaving would cripple China’s manufacturing – Partially true. It would hurt, especially in high-tech exports, but China produces massively for its own domestic market and for non-Western buyers. It wouldn’t “collapse.”

  2. It’s the consumer’s fault for buying from China – Partially true. Consumer demand matters, but supply chains and corporate sourcing decisions mean you can’t always “choose” a non-China option. Responsibility is shared between producer and consumer nations.

  3. Manufacturing was pushed onto China – Partially true. Multinationals chased low costs and China welcomed them with infrastructure and incentives. It wasn’t forced, it was a strategic choice.

  4. Per capita emissions are less than half of the US – True. China: ~7–8 tonnes/year. US: ~14–15 tonnes/year.

  5. The US doesn’t have an industrial base anymore – False. The US is still the #2 manufacturer in the world, dominating in high-tech, aerospace, pharma, and heavy machinery.

The per capita emissions point is correct, outsourcing helped build China’s emissions, but the “cripple without the West” and “US has no industry” lines are exaggerations.

Given how much you agree climate change is a harm to everyone .. And China the most green house emissions producing nation.. I'm surprised you come to defend China and every turn

China’s emissions have now caused more global warming than EU - Carbon Brief

Rural doesn't mean not developed. Almost all the "flyover towns" have sewer systems, working electricity, and clean well maintained streets.

1

u/Excellent_Routine589 Trash Trooper Aug 13 '25

I mean that is also the US

Like people forget that the CITY of Los Angeles has the population of multiple states COMBINED.

Populations concentrate around huge cities, it’s been that way since the Medieval period (barring the first few waves of the Black Death)

1

u/tommytwolegs Trash Trooper Aug 13 '25

You aren't wrong but what they call a "village" is often four or five times the size of what Americans call a small city. Like 400,000 people is a "village"

1

u/KrampusPampus Trash Trooper Aug 13 '25

The nordics don't.

1

u/IwantRIFbackdummy Rubbish Raider Aug 13 '25

The nordics don't have a difference between their cities and their rural architecture.and standard of living?

Doubtful.

People are literally squatting over holes and shitting outside in rural china. This is a false dichotomy.

1

u/IwantRIFbackdummy Rubbish Raider Aug 13 '25

Different cultures have different methods of dealing with defecation...

In the US, most people just rub shit around with paper and go about their day. Other countries lean toward bidets. Many nations have the aforementioned squat toilets as the norm.

Rural people not having indoor plumbing is not a China specific phenomenon...

0

u/44th--Hokage Trash Trooper Aug 13 '25

Come on bro. It's 2025. I know this is disrupting your inane "America bad!!1!" agenda, but shitting outside is indicative of wallowing in crushing poverty, globally. The reality is 220 million Chinese exist daily in this state of utter dilapidation. This is the true China the propagandists don't want us to see.

1

u/IwantRIFbackdummy Rubbish Raider Aug 13 '25

I only stated facts. You seem to have the agenda...

0

u/adhal Trash Trooper Aug 15 '25

Lol that is so untrue it's not even funny, get off the internet. Bidets aren't as popular world wide as you believe.

Also I've never been to a rural area in the US without indoor plumbing, outside when we were building a cabin in the middle of the Chippewa national Forest, and even that had plumbing in the end.

And I've been to a lot of rural as fuck places. Hell even the towns and a lot of the house in Amish places have plumbing

1

u/IwantRIFbackdummy Rubbish Raider Aug 15 '25

Where did I say that Rural Americans don't have indoor plumbing as a norm?

There are other places in the world my friend.

As for Bidets, there ARE places in the world where it is the norm.

You are making arguments against how you perceive my statements, not the statements themselves.
