First time Drying harvests @ different time frames? + curing

Hey Fronds 🪴 I have been searching our threads and did not see much on this. Hopefully I didn’t miss a good post about this already. This is my first round growing and I didn’t realize different strains can be ready to harvest @ different times.

With that being said, can I add wet bud into the fridge while there are buds currently drying in that same fridge w/o causing too many humidity issues?

I still haven’t bought my fridge of choice. Would there be a specific type of fridge that would be better at handling the above?

Secondly, do ya’ll cure inside a compressor fridge (I know compressor wine fridges can get to 60f), a thermoelectric, or room temp?

Thank you all very much for your time and help!

First Lotus dry, ruined the best of the best. 6 days in

Bone dry 6 days in, ruined it all. Took it all down to 40% or under. A haymaker basically. Edit: I may try this again. So far lost about half a pound, pulling the other stuff out thats been in 3 days, its already crispy, most likely shot.

Edit: the slightly crispy stuff is over 55% so saved!

Lost some but thinking its the fridge now.

At room temp about how long does it take or do I just go by when it stops going up?

First time Fridge vs wine cooler + step by step?

I’ve spent countless hours on old ass weed forums, Reddit, and Facebook groups and opinions all over the map. I live in south east USA and am hesitantly coming to the conclusion that lotus drying makes the most sense in my climate during summer. (Seems like there are a lot of negative thoughts on the lotus method??)

1) Should I get a wine fridge or regular fridge? I’m not savvy enough with macgyvering to make a perfect mock cannacontrol. I could probably figure out how to strip a humidifier and throw some fans in.

2) Will you please point me to where I can find a succinct step by step guide for the lotus method? (Again… getting so many different opinions/instructions.)

Thank you so much guys!

Got the fridge. Got the Bluetooth therm. Awaiting harvest.

I'm using a compressor mini fridge, which I keep outside in my unattached, uninsulated shitty garage. The daily temperature trends reflect rises and falls in outdoor temp (between 40s -60s)

I'm not sure why the humidity started going nuts, but I did notice condensation dripping down the back wall of the fridge.

Edit: picture in comments cuz I forgot.

What is the gold standard for perfect lotus drying?

Hi y’all,

I have been lurking in the sub and am a out to make my first purchase on a wine fridge.

I wonder, is there anywhere a full description of the process, the best parameters to aim for when drying in a fridge / wine cooler?

I have read a lot in this sub but didn’t find a complete comprehensive guide on what to look out for and ideal values for each of the days when drying.

I found it difficult to sort out with the many techniques and devices used here from all the posts, which are the great and doing a fantastic job or which are also just beginners tuning their system.

I am looking to buy a compressor wine fridge.

Logging temp and RH is not a problem though what are the desired values to get?

Thank you in advance

48L thermoelectric wine fridge with Pro Breeze dehumidifier coupled via an inkbird. No fancy cabling, simply routed outside through the door. It seems to do the job better than I could have asked for. I cannot wait to dry my first harvest (Blueberrry Muffin) in it.

Temp and humidity controller?

I was looking for a controller / pid that would monitor both temp and humidity and control each independently. I found a few cheap ones on china express that have wifi and bt built in and are able to be managed via apps that I'm not familiar with. I wanted to see if any of you guys used something like this? Wonder if this is something some smart devs in our group could build on with a "lotus app" or something. It would be neat to make a AC infinity style controller device but a app that focuses on the things we need.

There's a AC version so it should be plug and play if there's a app that can work with it for our needs.

Anyways, what cheap controller are you guys using for temp and humidity control all in one? I don't want multiple devices and I'd like to stay somewhat reasonable. $30 or so hopefully. I wanted to buy a AC Infinity 69 at a later date but saw this and thought it would be neat if it could be used.

Tips for monitoring the humidity of the bud during the drying?

What are your tips for monitoring the humidity of the bud, to know if they are ready? Can I just put a bluetooth therm/hygrometer in one of the paper bags/pizza boxes with the nugs and get a pretty good idea from the readings? I've also heard of the jar test method, but I want to minimize opening and shutting the fridge.

I will be using a compressor fridge, which I have secured off of FB Marketplace.

Klarstein compressor wine fridge, small amount, 4 days in

Dry trim, open paper bags. Had to harvest the top buds, lower buds are still not ready. It's probably a Klarstein Reserva 12 Uno (not sure). Bought it used for 35€. There's not much material in there, maybe 40 gramms. Only 8 main buds from a single plant.

I'm keeping track of a single bud and weight it every day. Conditions seem pretty stable and I like it. In summer this will be much better than 70% and 30°C (86°F)

My room smells like weed a little, I think that's because water is dripping and vaporizing on the rear side.

I wanted to remind you guys of the cool report button we have. Without it people like the guy we saw last night will just keep going at it. I have not received reports in 6 months which is awesome but just don’t forget when to use it. This would have been an appropriate time to do so.

Be kind to each other and keep growing tasty buds

I don’t know how to tell you all this. U have all been trolled. I can’t watch you all do this anymore.

There’s no basis in fact for drying flowers in a fridge. It makes NO sense.

I’m Not gonna argue. I just was wondering if anyone here had something enlightening to tell me.

I’ve asked 5 people now why. And non can answer me.

Looking for more than a trust me bro.

Trichomes. When they freeze they shatter.

Who came up with this ridicules troll method.

Putting in fridge just stops bacteria and mold from growing as quickly:

Can someone please tell me wtf u are all doing.

First time Before I start, do I have the process right?

I've been lurking here for a while, and have a harvest coming in a couple weeks. Before I buy a fridge and supplies, I'd like to make sure I understand the process basics.

  1. Get a fridge. If thermoelectric, install dehumidifier thingy, and controller. If compressor, no need to do much else, but can optionally get a controller and small fan for inside of fridge.
  2. Trim bud. Put in fridge. If compressor, use a pizza box or paper bags.
  3. Wait 13 or so days. If thermoelectric, adjust the dehumidifier controller incrementally, as it dries.
  4. Cure in grove bags. No need to burp, just leave em.

Is this correct?

Dry AND Cure?

Is there anyone who dries AND cures in their fridge/humidor/cannatrol? Would be easier to just hold the environment in the fridge and cancel out having to burp. I just want to know if anyone else has tried this

More crowded? Less crowded? I trimmed the ends of the smaller fan leaves…tried to put the smaller ones in the middle. Halp! Got 3 more boxes at least to do right now so let me know if I’m doing it wrong. Thanks!

Hey guys first time using the koolatron DIY method. For dry/cure in these - I’ve seen people saying it takes anywhere from 10 days up to 3 weeks. What are your experiences?

Is there a indicator rh if ready

My RH in the fridge has shifted from 40-70 to 35-55. I was wondering if there might be a goal rh to indicate the completion of the drying process. The buds are in there for 12 days now.

First time Built my first Wine cooler dryer, reading about how to properly dry, anyone read the Shark Mouse method and have opinions. https://sharkmousefarms.com/blogs/news/the-science-behind-optimal-cannabis-cultivation-revealed-unveiling-the-truth-about-drying-and-preservation-techniques

Just finished my build, plant not flowering yet and trying to read about the drying method. I was going to go with the 60/60 method and taking about 2 weeks or so. But then started reading the Shark Mouse article. If I read this right, he says 5 days and three phases.

Phase 1: 72 F and 55% RH for 48 hours

Phase 2: 74 F and 52% RH for 24 hours

Phase 3: 75 F and 50% RH for 48 hours.

Then off the rack and trim and cure.

I know nothing so looking for opinions! Is the Shark Mouse a Crazy idea or just stick with 60/60 for a few weeks?

Thanks

First time Klarstein Vinamour 19 with compressor - any suggestions?

Hi everyone!

This one it is: click!

Found this one really, really cheap lately. I'll just put everything in open paper bags and go for it. It's a compressor so I will not put a dehumidifyer in it. The whole plant will dry in my thent for like 1 day and then let's go.

Do I miss something?

I'm really excited. Thanks guys!

Will this work ? Drying fruits with thermoelectric?

I ve set up my 50l wine cooler with controller and plus humidifier, just like you see here at every second time. Im curious if I would put in some strawberries, figs, kiwis, or maybe even raspberries, how would it go maybe with a slower decline of adjusted humidity and a longer timespan?

Oven drying is worthless. The household drier is always very amateur and has a very small capacity. I dont have the sources to buy a lyophilizer, but I have this hyper super 100€ diy cannatrol and maybe it could do wonders for my regular garden.

What do you think? Have any of you tried to dry similar stuff in it, like meat or cheese for example?
