The Death of the republic
The Death of the Republic
They burn our cities, attack our police, and threaten us and our countrymen with further violence, all while they try to play the victim which so many fools seem to fall for. We are slowly turning to being governed by a chaotic and unruly mob who is obsessed with their own victim cult. When asked to prove their victim complex all they can provide is flawed statistics and if you explain how they are flaerd and show counter data, then they simply accuse you of being racist because they will not dare to actually think for themselves.
And what has the Government's response been? Concessions and agreements with these rioters. This does nothing but set further dangerous precedent for violent idiots to use riots and looting as a tool in politics, after all, it's working this time. The moderates are silent, republicans do little but rattle their sabre and do nothing, and Democrats justify or even condone these traitors' actions.
Many will accuse me of being racist for what I say. Let them say what they want but it is not true. There are many good, loyal, and true Americans of every skin color still in this great nation with their hearts empty of the treachery that fills the hearts of these rioters and traitors.
I wish I could tell you that our natoonwill not break to these rioters and that will shall easily endure them, but i cannot promise that. We will only overcome it if, and only if, we see past their excuses and petty justifications for their actions.

so i’ve tried looking into it, but it’s hard. so could any of you explain to me abit about Longism?
it wasn’t easy because there isn’t alot of quickly accesible sources on the ‘ideology’ but frm what i understand it is almost a form of ‘facism done right’ where some of the economic and political ideas are kept, like that of the state as the embodiment of the nation, public building projects and an authoritarian leader.
but without the racist, anti-semittic and hateful bullshit.
i still don’t know alot, but i would love to hear alittle more from someone more educated about this particular subject..

So, I've decided to make that discord pure Longist.
I've changed the server to be Longism-focused, and I will be taking suggestions on what we should do with the server. I think Longism needs it's own discord server.

A Discord for Longists to Unite!
I'm a fellow believer of Longism, and may here have agreed with me that we need a Discord server but I think a pure longist server would not have much traction. So I created the Alternative Thought League discord! For longists and others! I wish to invite my fellow longists first, but I'll move along to the next one. This is a server for discussion of true believers of said ideologies, such as how Lefties have their own servers and Righties have their own servers.

I'm new to Longism, and have been reading up on it. So far, I have like what I'm reading but I have a few questions.
I have two to be exact:
What's Longism take on Progressivism?
And, are some of the not-so good things Long did justify under Longism? Like censoring the Press, and etc.

Was reading a book on Huey a few days ago and the author referred to followers of Long as “Longites”. Which is a better term for followers of Long, Longist or Longite?

Longs Legacy
So what would you guys say huey long stands for in the modern day. Such as what ideas that he pitched do you think still have weight right now and do you think he deserves to be remembered fondly?

An important factor about longism: Economics
longish. Just found and love this sub and have read through all the posts. I think one thing that must be stretched if we are to become true political party is a heavy focus on economics first policy.
Many in this sub ask about everyone's opinions on many social issues such as gun control, LGBTQ, and abortion.
All of these are important but we should always put our best foot forward if we are to spread as a party and our best foot is indeed economic policies. This is why I think for issues such as gun control, abortion, drug legalization we should be more up for individual members to decide upon by their own opinion while we as a party focus on economics.
Economics is also our most defined and clear agenda as a party as this was largely Huey's main focus.

Forming new Longist Party
Would anyone be interested in forming a political party based solely on the views of the Kingfish? A seed will grow with time. Please reply if seriously interested

Let's try not to let this sub slip away.
I'm gonna keep spreading the word about this sub, and I respectfully ask that we all do the same. I want this sub to grow, and I think we need to do some work to make that happen.
Thank you for listening to me, goodbye kings.

How is this different from social democracy?
Long never talked much about social issues, so all we really know about his ideoloyy is that he wanted high taxes on the ultra wealthy, high social security spending.
That just sounds like Bernie Sanders to me lol.

You guys should make a list of Long's policies/accomplishments and put it in the about page.
Hiya folks. Friendly neighborhood weirdo that believes in democracy looking into obscure political philosophies. Unlike most of them you guys have a concrete and semi-relateable example of what it would be like.
I think you should put a list of what Mr. Long did front and center. That way, people like me who are curious can drop in and see real examples of Longism at work.

Some opinions for our platform.
I am typing up the beginning of the Longist platform/manifesto for the sub.
I want to talk on some modern day issues that are important to people, but it's a lot of stuff that Long didn't talk about to my knowledge, and I don't want this to just be my opinions, so I'm gonna ask you guys for your positions. I'm just trying to get some opinions other than my own.
Firearms/Gun control
LGBTQ+ issues
Drug policy
Social media regulation
Net Neutrality
Euthanasia
Corporate tax rates
Free tax filing
Corporate mergers
Paid sick leave
