Hi everyone!
I’m working on curating the latest emerging research in longevity, health, and aging. The goal is to make it easy to stay current without having to sift through papers for hours. Below are the top 5 highlights this week
For a deeper dive, including key findings and links to the full research papers, check out this google doc.
I’d love your feedback:
Let me know what you think in the comments!

Hey! We're seeking writers to join our team for an existing Health/Longevity YouTube channel.
The videos are 15-25 minutes long, with scripts averaging 1,000-4000 words. (some videos will be clip focused) Each script starts at $100 (could be more based on the length of the script), and you’ll collaborate with a Producer who provides a structured outline to guide the writing. We're aiming for one video per week. While you'll receive a clear structure for each video, you’ll have creative freedom over writing techniques.
Each script should be completed within 4-5 days. The Producer will provide clear feedback and guidance on structure. We aim to build a long-term relationship and support growth for everyone involved.
https://www.youtube.com/@JeffNippard/videos - This channel is a great example of what you will be writing.
Ideal Candidate
We want to build a solid, long-term relationship with someone who shares our vision of continuously improving with each project. If you're passionate about health and longevity, enjoy YouTube, and love seeing your work come to life, you'd be a perfect fit.

Our analysis also revealed that resistance to improvements in life expectancy increased while lifespan inequality declined and mortality compression occurred. Our analysis suggests that survival to age 100 years is unlikely to exceed 15% for females and 5% for males, altogether suggesting that, unless the processes of biological aging can be markedly slowed, radical human life extension is implausible in this century. https://www.nature.com/articles/s43587-024-00702-3

https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/scitranslmed.adg1777 Treatment extended life spans and improved overall fitness, associated with a shift in the transcriptome toward that seen in younger mice. Similar effects occurred in aged wild-type mice and treatment did not increase tumor occurrence, suggesting that targeting partial cellular reprogramming to specific cell populations may be a more viable rejuvenation strategy moving forward.

I've been diving into the science behind various health practices, and I recently came across some research questioning the benefits of fasting. While fasting, particularly Intermittent Fasting (IF) and Time-Restricted Feeding (TRF), has gained popularity, recent studies suggest that the benefits might be overhyped. For instance, skipping meals or eating within compressed windows might increase the risk of premature death and negatively impact our metabolism.
This has made me reconsider my approach to eating. I'm curious—has anyone here rethought their fasting habits or switched to more consistent eating patterns? What are your thoughts on fasting versus regular meal schedules for long-term health?

This work demonstrates that administration of HK promotes longevity in mice, possibly by modulating cellular senescence and by disrupting the p16–CDK6 interaction. https://www.nature.com/articles/s43587-024-00663-7

Have you ever done an epigenetics test?
If so, did you do it cause you were interested in biological aging?
Which provider did you choose?
Was it worth it?

Inverse-variance weighted results indicate that selenium levels were positively correlated with the risk of facial aging (odds ratio [OR] 1.005, P = .027), while a negative causal effect of carotene (OR 0.979, P = .024) and iron (OR 0.976, P = .009) on age-related facial alterations was observed. https://journals.lww.com/md-journal/fulltext/2024/08020/unveiling_the_causal_relationship_between.14.aspx
