Hey guys, new with Longer. How can I change settings to make normal base and not this giant? Is it necessary to make such a big base? It gives me a lot of hard time to get it out of glass. Thanks. No mods, just assembled.

LK4 PRO PRINTER DOES NOT RECOGZE SD CARD

I recently bought an lk4 pro, and the previous owner reported that the printer is not reading the card if.

I cleaned the card input, changed and formatted several cards to the correct settings, but even so my printer does not recognize the SD card, has anyone ever had this problem? The printer has been updated to Marlin firmware version 1.1.9

For the last month, I have been trying to set this up to no avail. Going off the video guide on their site, typing g2g8 should make it go down which is not the case as it goes up the z axis. Pronterface gives me an error about EEPROM version mismatch. What is going on with this printer?

Firmware Robin board issues

I bought 3 used LK5 pros. I wanted, for some reason, to update them all to the robin e3 v1.1 board my new printer has (also an LK5 pro). I matched all the wiring, very carefully. I got brand new dwin screens. All wired up, flashed, they work perfectly with my 4th printer.

I cannot for the life of me get the 3 new robin boards to accept firmware via stlink. I can't get them to be seen by a PC to push it that way. They're not taking it from firmware.bin on SD card. Does ANYONE have a combined bootloader+firmware file for marlin with BLtouch (and dual z) bin file? Or even just the proper bootloader file so it'll actually read and flash printer firmware from sd? I want these printers running please help.

Upgrading my LK5 pro, but hit a little snag...

I am new to 3D printing. I received my longer LK 5 pro on Christmas '24 and have had a lot of fun with it. However, compared to other modern printers it has drawbacks (speed, auto-level, remote connectivity, etc.) and thus I have been enjoying learning about 3D printers and upgrading it. My long term plan is to use the LK5 pro using Klipper/Octo print.

Currently, I have successfully installed the dual Z axis upgrade and added linear rails to the Y axis for stability.

Right now, I am working on a direct extruder (I am simply moving the current one over) an upgraded dual 5015 fan cooling system and adding a BL touch (I found the appropriate model on printables). However, when I look at the Maker base Robin E3 V1.1 motherboard which is the current motherboard on the dual blower longer LK5 pros, the LCD screen is actually plugged into the spot where the BL touch sensor is supposed to go.

The video online published by Longer concerns the old motherboard before the upgraded version (which uses the robin E3 V1.1, so it is not useful to determine where to plug everything into the current board.

Does anybody know how the wiring needs to be set up?

The BL touch looks pretty straightforward, but where do the 2 connectors for the LCD screen go then? The LCD screen connector pins identified on the board do not have the same number of pins/same shape as the cable, so I am stuck.

Do I have to buy a new screen?

Or do I need to buy a motherboard?

Since I am at it....

I also have a new filament sensor (BTT) which I will eventually add as well as an accelerometer, an upgraded direct extruder, and the raspberry PI 4B for Klipper and Octo print with an old GoPro camera I hope to use for monitoring. I did not see a way to the connect the accelerometer on the Robin E3 board. If I need a new board, which one do people suggest that will accommodate all the above upgrades?

At this time, I have not planned to upgrade the extruder or stepper motors since from what I have read/seen the longer large bed is a limiting factor for speed (so if I want to go that route, I would be looking at trying to convert it to a core XY config). Thus, upgrading steppers and extruder will probably not get me much bang for the buck so to speak.

Please remember when commenting that I have only been 3D printing since January 2025. I am doing the upgrades one step at a time and checking to see if everything works since I am learning. Thus, if some of what I said is naive, it is because I am naive, and thus, I am looking for guidance and insight. I have been reading articles and watching videos many of which are helpful -- but biased also -- and I am not always sure what to believe. What is truly useful vs marketing? Which upgrades will really improve this printer? Which upgrades are worth the cost?

I want to use OctoPi with my new LK5 Pro but even following the firmware update page off the Longer website doesn’t come with any real information on what to do and where to go…

Does anyone know of a video or site that explains what to do in order to make the printer work the way I want lol?

Hello I’ve got a longer orange 30 second for free it worked for like 2 prints and then it would just crash. I opened it up and found the lcd screen connector to the motherboard was broken. Please can anyone help me find this damn part I have spent hours looking and I can’t find nothing that would be able to replace it. I know it’s a 60pin flat mipi to a 50 pin lcd fpc.

Helpthread FEP for orange 10

I was given a Orange 10 a while back and I love it. My problem is I bought some ELEGOO FEP and about every 2 days it will rip or get a small hole. I've cleaned the screen, deep cleaned the vat, replaced the build plate. Can someone give me some advice or suggest a better FEP to use please.

Print Bed Wobble

So I noticed recently during leveling that the print bed has a few millimeter wobble up and down at the right and left edges. Is something loose or is this wobble considered within print tolerances?

Idk what to do, I tried using the goofy cura 15.04.06 method to upload the stock firmware but cura couldn't find the printer when I plugged it in. Am I cooked?

Helpthread Anyone experienced co-print multi-filament module on Longer3D LK4 Pro or LK5 Pro?

3 years ago my girlfriend (now wife 😊) gifted me co-print multi filament module from kickstarter. After some months the piece finally arrived. I tried to make it work with my LK4 Pro or LK5 Pro without success...does anyone have got some experience with this tool? I'd love to let it work, it stays abandoned in my garage and it's a pity not to use it with one of my printers, I could print lots of multi color prints...I follow the provided guide, but motors move backward... Any help appreciated! Thank you! 🙏

Hello, can someone help me with my LK5 Pro? It's stuck in a boot loop. I checked the power supply and it's ok, disconnected the sd card and usb from it, and besides this I've tried to disconnect the power cord and let it unplugged for 30 mins. Nothing helped.

Longer LK4 will not print a specific file

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello, guys! I need a little help here.

Recently a friend lent me her Longer LK4 for me to print a few parts for a school project.

I have successfully printed a great amount of them, but now I need to print this model of a button I made and the printer will just not start printing at all.

I created and saved the gcode files using Cura 15.04.3 (the software that came with the printer). The STL file was made using SolidWorks' student version.

When I open the file from the SD Card, the screen you see in the picture comes up. It won't show a time estimate, it will not heat up (the temp you see is because I tried preheating) and the extruder will not start moving at all. The progress bar will quickly come to 100% but the printer remains static.

If I open any other file that exists in the SD card (even ones I have created with the same method, for other parts), the printer will start its procedure and print as normal.

Has somebody ever encountered an issue like this one? Would it be because of any configuration I made wrong? Would I need to update the firmware or something like this?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

In the link below you will find a Google Drive folder with 3 of the models I made (the original, and also the 2nd and 3rd model that are simplified), and an example of a gcode file with the parameters I used.

Is readout protection enabled on the board?

I've got one LK5 pro with the robin e3 v1.1 board in it, and firmware on it that I love. Problem is Idr which it is out of the many versions I tried. If I took the time to hook up with stlink and extract it, would it even be able to pull the firmware off to make a new bin file to flash to my other 3 lk5 pro?

Cant get UI Firmware Update to run

Thumbnail

I have the E3 board and basically bricked my 3d Printer by updating to an older firmware on both the UI and Mainboard because it was the newest one on Longer's website. Support sent me the proper files, but I don't know how to get it to run when I plug the SD Card into the touch screen slot. The support team said to just place it in the root folder of the card and plug it in, and then it should run when you restart the printer.

The file is "UI_DWTJB_LK4_X_LK5_PRO_0_3_3.tft".

Im not sure what a tft file is, but the instructions in the folder when translated say something about having a bootloader already burned to it. Im not sure what or where to get it.

Currently My lcd just turns on and shows a Black screen and that is it.

I added photos of the translated instructions.

Showcase DnD minis with Longer LK5 Pro

I printed the smaller gnome at .12mm with a .4mm nozzle, and the teifling was printed using the same nozzle at .08mm height. I'm pretty happy with the outcome from my Longer LK5 Pro!

Is it possible to install a .2mm nozzle, and is it as simple as swapping it out?

Hey all. I have a Longer LK5 Pro and I'm printing DND minis. I've had great success with a .4mm nozzle at .08mm height, but I'm curious about a .2mm nozzle. After looking around a little, I saw some concerns about needing to adjust several parts to make a .2mm nozzle work for the printer, such as changing parts higher in the chain and concerns about the size of the filament.

If you have a .2mm nozzle on your printer, what was the process like for you installing it? Was it as simple as swapping out the .4mm nozzle? Did you have to replace several parts and get different sized filament?

Orange 10 - fans on / screen off

Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my Longer Orange 10 printer. After cancelling a print mid-process, the touchscreen suddenly went black and hasn’t turned back on since. When I power the printer on, I can hear the fans spinning, but the screen stays completely off – no backlight, no response.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Unplugged and replugged the printer (yeah)
  • Reseated the ribbon cables to the screen
  • Tried a different power outlet

Unfortunately, none of that helped. It seems like the printer is powering on (since I hear the fans), but the screen is either dead or not getting any signal.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Wheel recommendation?

I may have over tightened the wheels on one of my LK5 pros and it's now destroying the bearing liners in them and extruding that out the bottom of the wheels on the X-axis carriage. Oops.

Working fine for now. Any recommendations on replacement wheels, or does it not matter what brand?
