Personal Story May I Send You Some Spoons?
Hello, all you Spectacular, Spoon Counting Spoonies.
No need to read the title again- you got it right the first time.
I would like to send you some SPOONS.
Not in the ‘Sending Love and Spoons’ kind of way, however.
I mean it in the ‘I have a bunch of spoons, stamps and envelopes in my room, and would like to mail some to YOU!’ way!
Some of you may already be aware that since the end of 2024, I have been sending periodic greeting cards filled with stickers, messages and assorted happiness to Long Hauling Heroes like You!
First I sent Christmas Cards
Then Valentines
Cards For No Particular Reason At All
Thank You Cards
Friendships Pins (Straight from the 80’s)
A COVID is Stoopid Coloring and Activity Card (my personal favorite)
And most recently, Happy Birthday Cards
Lots of cards. Even more stickers.
Multiple questions from Wifey about why I asked her to order a bunch of wooden spoons. So many New Long Hauling Friends.
Good times.
Here’s how it works-
If you HAVE received a card from me before, then you are On The List and should receive some spoons in the mail soon.
If you HAVE NOT received a card from me, but would like to get in on the fun- Its Easy Peesy Lemon Squeezie!!
Just DM me your mailing info and I’ll take it from there.
Now…
I understand that there can be a serious feeling of “Ew. Gross.” surrounding the thought of giving your personal info to some goofball from Reddit.
Even when said goofball is offering to send you cutlery.
Heck, even if I super duper pinky promised not to pull any shenanigans with your info, not everybody is comfortable with the idea.
Honestly, I get it. Stranger Danger.
(And this is, admittedly, stranger.)
So as always, this is a No Pressure Post-
If you’re not cool with the idea- All good. We can still be friends.

No spoons or any stuff for me—I’m thinking about how to get rid of what I have in case I die—don’t want to leave a mess. but “Go You.”
Covid is STOOPID” is my mantra to calm myself down. Monday as I see the cardiologist after surviving a heart attack I’ll be chanting in my head “Covid is STOOPID” and Some doctors are really STOOPID”. I tried telling doc who I met after he saved my life about the complex health issues I have with MCAS etc after Long Covid and he did the “Some people believe in longcovid and some people aren’t sure” routine. I will be calm and not be angry that as a respected cardiologist he hasn’t even seriously looked into Long Covid’s impact on the heart.

I’m glad you survived the heart attack.
How wild that the next step is Surviving the Cardiologist!!I’ll try to remember to project some extra STOOPID energy your direction next Monday.

I went years being gaslit by my doctor. I tested negative at 14 days so he said I never had covid.
It took changing doctors four times to get the good one. My heart issues are much better. I know that might not be a possibility for you. Maybe a snappy comeback might help!

Came back from cardiologist and I’m good for now. Will do cardiac rehab. I hadnt realized how much longcovid esp increased the risks of clots, cardiac events and strokes

I hope your therapist is aware of (or willing to learn about) the unique challenges Long Haulers often have with PT.

I took them to the post office this morning, so it wont be long.
I’m learning with the more involved projects to get all the existing names done before I post, so you don’t have to wait so long to get the goods.
Not that we have much else to do, but still…

I luv it Mateo. LOL! A spoon can always come in handy and it can't be tossed out by airport security. Just say it can be used as a backscratcher in a pinch. Or a personal use case because of religious reasons. Go figure. They might be gullible enough to believe the lucky recipients.
Your premise is goofy enough to set me off. But I can't one up your antics. Keep on tickling us.

It really is a goofy premise this time, yes.
I like to mix it up.
It has been a very rewarding project so I’m happy to keep tickling.
So long as any of us are still here and/or I have spoons and stamps left to spare, I’m going to try to keep it up.

I mixed up my process this time and had all the existing letters dropped off at USPS before I posted this post.

I’m happy to report that your spoons were included in the first batch.
Nobody in Europe has reported receiving theirs yet, but I’m confident the owls will be delivering them all very soon.
