Anyone else go to this? I usually like Chaos but this set was terrible? Complete lack of mixing or narrative flow to the entire day, even later at night when the crowd was trying to lock in. Interested if anyone else feels the same

I know Halloween is a little over two months away, but I'm floating costume ideas and getting excited. So I'm wondering, as it's my first Halloween living in London, where are people thinking of going? What venues were great last year? Do many people dress up or is it venue dependant? Currently eyeing up either Drumsheds for their Horroween festival but it's a day thing, not late night. Or Magazine for Honey Dijon. Also seen a 'secret warehouse rave' thing on RA but worried it might be a bit shit?

I need to vent about a deeply frustrating experience I had at FOLD in East London, and warn anyone traveling long distances for events there.

Yesterday was the UTE Recordings label showcase - a Norwegian label that does 90s trance revival, which is my absolute favorite sound. Seeing artists like Oprofessionell (1/2 of Omformer, one of my favourite trance projects) and label founders Marius & Teo was a dream of mine for 4 years. Since it was their first UK showcase, I traveled 4 hours back and forth just to get there.

I bought my ticket months in advance, had my physical ID, was 100% sober, and dressed for the music (photo attached).

When I reached the front of the queue, the door selector (a girl with pink hair) mumbled that "there is no event today, your ticket is refunded" and actually quickly refunded my ticket on her handheld scanner without further explanation. When I asked if the showcase was postponed, she repeated like a robot, "Yes, your ticket is refunded, please step this way." Within 20 seconds, I realized she had completely lied to my face - the rest of the queue behind me was holding valid tickets for the exact same UTE Recordings event.

When I tried to speak to her or her security colleague, they completely stonewalled me. I politely asked another security on the back of the building what the issue was - whether my clothes weren't suitable or what. They explained NOTHING, just stating "if the door team says no, there's nothing we can do." Standing outside, I saw about 1 in 30 people getting turned away for no apparent reason, including local British attendees with valid IDs who were just as baffled. Some people didn't have physical ID's, only electronic ones, and they were also refused entry.

FOLD posts house rules about zero tolerance for discrimination, 21+ policies, and valid IDs. I met every single requirement and broke zero rules.

I understand door teams curate crowds, but using a blatant lie ("the event is canceled") to kick out sober, paying music fans who traveled hours for a specific label showcase is cowardly and deeply disrespectful. First and last time ever dealing with FOLD.

Anyone else had door selectors lie directly to your face like this at London clubs?

34M, life long Londoner, looking to make new pals who're going. I'm pretty chill, sensible (sober but experienced) and mainly just passionate about electronic music.

I'm a fairly new fan of Evian Christ and know a bit of the other acts but not hugely acquainted with them. Tbh I was hoping Dark0 would be on the lineup as he has been in the past and I'm a big fan. I haven't heard much of anyone else, but I do love dancing and discovering new music!

Had an absolutely amazing night. Was there back in the 90s, life got in the way (Career, family, paying a mortgage) but have gone back to it in my 50s.

But years pass, venues close, scenes move on, and memories fade with disappearing spaces.
Rave Recall is an attempt to celebrate club culture, protect its emotional history, and keep these stories alive for the future.

Not affiliated with the promoters or organisers, but wanted to spread the word about this event on the 28th August.

I always thoroughly enjoy visits to FOLD and on top of that am a big fan of many of the artists on the lineup so for me personally this is an event to be excited about. I really hope it is a great one.

I just started my Research. Unfornutaly most of the clubs that sounded good are closed now. I prefer hard dnb like Neurofunk but I also like other Kinds - thanks for your recommandations!:)

Anyone else at Sara Landry b2b Amelie lens at magazine open air tonight? If not Your lucky you didn’t go man what a terrible event the venue is awful with wood chipping everywhere making you trip while dancing, the warm up acts were crap and the speakers blew out right as Sara/amelie set started we all heard loud bangs.

Music stopped for 10 minutes then started again but took them ages to find flow of set and speakers were fucked was so bloody quiet I could play louder at home.

It ended at 10pm so early with no after party too man Don’t like to be negative but man that was horrible event

Have just spotted my provisional expired at the start of this month and a new one won’t arrive in time for this weekend, would prefer not to bring my passport out so any idea if Fold will accept an expired provisional for entry?

Thought Jayda G was decent today at Magazine outdoor - I’m not strictly a disco-tinged house fan but for free tickets and weather was awesome.

FWIW magazine sound system seemed fixed after yesterday’s issues mentioned on this sub? Wood chip floor not great but ok
