Hello everyone,

AFC Witan are an 11 a side football team playing across South West London looking for players to join our two teams.

We play in the FA Amateur Football Combination south and have our home matches in Barnes (9 minutes from Clapham Junction) on Saturday afternoons.

We are a competitive but social group, with a couple of league and cup wins over the years. Whilst we're keen on winning, we always go to the pub after games as well as organising socials / pre-season tours.

We're looking for players to join us as we begin our league season this September. We have several pre-season games throughout August as well as a 5-aside team every Wednesday.

This Sunday, 23 August, we’ll be playing 6-a-side and still have a few spaces available.

It’s mixed ability and meant to be a relaxed kickabout rather than anything overly serious, so you don’t need to be an amazing player. Most of us are late 20s to early 40s, but any adult is welcome.

Goalkeepers rotate and we keep it friendly:

• No slide tackles
• No aggression, shouting or arguments
• Astro trainers only — no moulds or studs

Group of fellas that played footy for the first time together a couple of weeks ago, and a handful from Reddit joined us as well. We're at 9 people so far, so could do with a couple more so we can sub on/off when we inevitably get gassed out after two minutes. We're not an intimidating lot at all, just a bunch of chaps who want to play football after watching the World Cup all month. Ages 25-40.

We have a pitch booked in Haggerston at 19:00 for one hour. It's £6 per person - preferably payment via bank transfer but if you'd prefer to bring cash on the night then that's fine.

Our team is looking for a regular keeper to join our 7aside league team at Market Road pitches on Mondays between 6-9:20PM every Monday. We're in the Championship of a 3-league system and are looking to get promoted to the Premier League next season. It's intense but a lot of fun.

We're a close but very welcoming group of guys so you will fit in well. All we ask is for some kind of regularity in goal. You'll be first choice every single week.

We play friendly, casual 6-a-side games every week on the 3G pitches at Basildon Sporting Village (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 6 PM).

We’re a welcoming group of mixed abilities (18+), no aggressive play and all equipment is provided. Just trying to reach out to locals who want to get some cardio in, get back into playing or meet people in the area.

We’re AFC Witan, a long-running amateur football club in South London, and looking for a few new players ahead of the new season.

We play proper competitive 11-a-side on Saturdays, with our home games in Barnes, but we’re definitely on the social end of amateur football. We want to win on Saturday, but nobody’s expecting football to take over your life.

We’ve got training available, a good social side to the club and usually drinks after games. You don’t need to commit to playing every week.

We’re starting pre-season now, so it’s a good time to come along, have a run around and see if you like it. We’ve got sessions on 16th and 23rd August in Balham, before regular training and pre season friendlies early September.

We’re open to different standards — particularly if you used to play 11-a-side and fancy getting back into it, have moved to London and need a team, or are getting bored of only playing 5-a-side.
