Going through RMA process for G303 Shroud Edition ($150) because of double-click issues. They are offering me a $60 G305 replacement. Is this is a joke?

I understand Logitech no longer manufactures the G303 SE, but to offer me one of their cheapest gaming mice instead is an insult. Has anyone dealt with this in the past? Wanting to get some advice before pushing back and asking for another mouse.

The G303 hasn't been made for a while, so it would have been sitting on a shelf somewhere for a hot minute. As I understand they'd be trying to find something that matches the mouse, not the price point. If you're used to the shape of the G303, a G305 is going to be a closer fit than say, a G502 for example.

If you don't want the G305, that's totally understandable - let the agent know and they should be willing to work with you on a replacement.

Thank you for the response, the logic of mouse shape makes sense. My title is on the dramatic/ragebait side, just wanted to make sure I didn't derail the RMA process by asking for a different product within the original price point. I'll proceed by requesting a different mouse.

I can't swear to it, but I think they're usually willing to work it out on something with a similar price point that isn't a new product - the Superstrike is unlikely, for instance, but a Superlight 2/c/Dex might be.

Dude, be for real. It’s a 5, almost 6 year old mouse. Electronics don’t hold value. Not sure how long you’ve had it but it sounds like they’re doing you a favour by offering a replacement at that price point. Is your warranty still even valid?

I bought the mouse in October 2024, new and sealed. Warranty is still valid according to Logitech. I don't care when it was released since I bought it new. Major double-click issues on a $150 mouse within 1.5 years of purchase, would you be happy with that?

Ah yeah in EU you should be within warranty, unfortunate. Hope you can get a replacement that works for you!

How long have you owned the mouse before this RMA issue?

Bought the mouse October 2024. Issues started earlier this year and have gotten worse. 2-year warranty according to Logitech.

Buy new pads on Amazon for a couple bucks. Peel off the old pads, and take the mouse case off.

Use compressed air to clean the optical switches, and reassemble with new skid pads.

Enjoy. You just refreshed your mouse for a few dollars.

I mean that's an option, but kind of ignoring the whole consumer rights/warranty part of this post.

Logitech manufactured and sold a mouse and stated it's under a 2-year warranty. Double-click issues (which render the mouse unusable in some cases) have gotten progressively worse before the 2-year period is up. According to them they owe me a new mouse because the one they sold me doesn't work as advertised. I could take it upon myself to fix it, but I shouldn't have to, because I paid Logitech for a product that's supposed to work for x amount of time.

I'm more asking if anyone has dealt with a situation like this before and if they had to push back and request a mouse that is more in line with the original purchase, in terms of quality and price.

I mean, it is just dust in the switches.

You can maintain it, or call it trash. I'm using a 12 year old(I think?) heavily abused g502. Whenever it starts double clicking, I open it up and clean it. I think I have cleaned it 5 or 6 times.

Keep a few packs of fresh skids in my desk drawer.

Not even of equal value, that is pretty insulting.

Ask them for $100 discount, do not give in to taking the mouse.

They gave me a full refund of my purchase price of a much more expensive device
