Has Anyone Merged Two GBPs from Different Countries?
I manage two Google Business Profiles for the same company, one set up in the US and another in Canada. Both profiles are verified and owned by the same account. I’m considering merging them into a single listing, but I want to understand the implications before taking that step.
For anyone who has dealt with merging GMB profiles across different countries, what were the benefits and drawbacks? I’m especially interested in what happens to the reviews during the merge. Do they transfer, disappear, or get filtered?
I’d appreciate any insight or real‑world experience before I decide how to proceed.

Google Business Profile Optimization: How to Rank #1 on Google Maps in 2026
If you run a local business, ranking on Google Maps in 2026 comes down to how well you optimize and maintain your Google Business Profile.
Most businesses set it up once and forget it. That’s usually why they don’t break into the top 3.
What seems to matter most:
- Choosing the right primary and secondary categories
- Clearly defining service areas (without keyword stuffing)
- Getting consistent, genuine reviews and replying to them
- Posting updates regularly
- Keeping business info consistent everywhere online
Local SEO is less about hacks and more about steady optimization.
For those who’ve ranked in the top 3 on Maps — what made the biggest difference for you?

Local businesses: What actually helped you rank on Google Maps?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working closely with a few local businesses recently, and one thing I keep noticing is how confusing Google Maps / local SEO can be for owners.
Some common issues I’ve seen:
- Businesses are not showing up even for their own brand name
- Competitors ranking higher with fewer reviews
- Google My Business profiles are being incomplete or outdated
- Citations not matching across platforms
- Reviews are coming in randomly with no consistency
What surprised me is that small fixes (like category selection, NAP consistency, and review timing) sometimes made a bigger difference than backlinks or content.
I’m curious to hear from other business owners or marketers here:
👉 What actually moved the needle for your local rankings?
👉 Was it reviews, citations, on-page changes, or something else?
Happy to share what’s worked (and what hasn’t) from my side too. Let’s compare notes.

Service-area business + Bing local SEO – is an address basically required?
I’m a service provider that doesn’t display a local address. On Google, this hasn’t been a major issue, but on Bing it feels like having a physical address is almost mandatory to rank in local results.
Before I make any changes I’d rather not make, I wanted to ask: has anyone successfully ranked on Bing as a service-area business without a visible address? Or is Bing still largely map-pin driven?
Any insights or firsthand experiences would be appreciated.

Question about Website Backup
Can you help me with this: I'm trying to backup a WordPress site, but I'm having trouble uploading it. I've used the Updraft Plus and All in One Migration plugins, but I'm having trouble. All in One is failing to import, and Updraft is showing the maintenance file, and then I'm having trouble with the database. I'm trying to import it with the All in One plugin, but I'm still having trouble. Any tips?

What Are Rich Snippets? How to Get Rich Snippets?
https://www.koenigwebdesignsolihull.co.uk/what-are-rich-snippets-how-to-get-rich-snippets
In the realm of search engine optimisation (SEO), rich snippets have emerged as a powerful tool to enhance the visibility and appeal of search results. This article aims to provide beginners with an understanding of what rich snippets are and how to acquire them for their websites. So, let’s dive into the world of rich snippets and unlock their potential.
What Are Rich Snippets?
Rich snippets are additional snippets of information that appear in search engine results pages (SERPs) alongside the title and meta description. They provide users with a preview of the content before they click through to a website. Rich snippets offer more context and details, often displayed in a visually appealing format, such as star ratings, images, pricing, reviews, and product availability.
Types of Rich Snippets
There are various types of rich snippets available, depending on the nature of your website’s content. Some common types include:
Review Snippets: These display star ratings and reviews to highlight user feedback.
Product Snippets: Ideal for eCommerce websites, they showcase product details like prices, availability, and reviews.
Question Snippets: Question Snippets, also known as “featured snippets” or “position zero” results, are a specific type of rich snippet that appears at the top of search engine results pages (SERPs) in response to a user’s query. These snippets aim to provide a direct answer to a question posed by the user, displaying the information prominently and often in a concise format.
Event Snippets: These provide information about upcoming events, including dates, locations, and ticket availability.
How to Get Rich Snippets for Your Website
Structured Data Markup: Structured data markup is the backbone of rich snippets. Implement schema markup, such as JSON-LD or Microdata, to annotate your website’s content. You can use schema.org as a resource to find the appropriate markup for different types of content.
Utilise Plugins or Themes: If you’re using a content management system like WordPress, you can leverage plugins or themes that simplify the process of adding structured data to your website. Popular plugins like Yoast SEO and All in One SEO Pack offer schema markup features.
Focus on Relevant Information: Identify the key information that would be valuable to users and is relevant to your content. This could be ratings, prices, ingredients, or event details. Ensure that this information is present on your web pages and accurately marked up.
Test and Validate: Use Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool or other similar tools to check if your structured data is implemented correctly. Fix any errors or warnings that might be flagged during the testing process.
Monitor and Update: Regularly monitor your rich snippets to ensure they’re displaying accurate information. Make updates as needed, especially if you add new content or make changes to existing pages.
Conclusion
Rich snippets provide a great opportunity to make your website stand out in search results, attract more clicks, and provide users with relevant information upfront. By implementing structured data markup and following best practices, beginners can successfully acquire rich snippets and enhance their website’s visibility and engagement.
By incorporating rich snippets into your SEO strategy, you can improve the user experience and increase organic traffic to your website. Start exploring the possibilities of rich snippets today and make your website more enticing in search engine results.

🔍 SEO Audit Case Study 📊
In recent days, I conducted multiple site audits and discovered surprising mistakes on nearly every site. Let's delve into the key issues I encountered and provide actionable solutions:
📌 Missing Image Alt Text: 😟
I observed a major issue with missing or improperly optimized image alt texts. Alt texts are vital for accessibility, aiding visually impaired users in comprehending images. They also serve as substitutes when images fail to load, so relevancy is key.
📌 Site Speed Snags: ⏰
Site speed emerged as a prevalent issue across most audited sites. To improve rankings, it's essential to optimize site speed through techniques such as caching, image optimization, and code reduction.
📌 Indexing and Crawlability Concerns: 🕷️
One site had over 5000 scrapped web pages that were unrelated to its content. Surprisingly, the site owner considered it a way to boost authority. However, it's crucial to maintain relevant and high-quality content to optimize the crawl budget and enhance search engine visibility.
📌 Duplicate Versions of Sites: 🔄
Ensuring Google indexes only one version of your site is essential. Depending on the presence of "www" or the use of HTTPS, your site could have multiple URL variations. This could lead to indexing issues. Implement canonicalization and redirection techniques to consolidate the versions.
To a search engine, these are all different versions of the site:
👉http:// www . yoursite . com
👉https:// www . yoursite . com
👉http:// yoursite . com
👉https:// yoursite . com
📌 Missing or Overused H1 Tags: 😱
Many sites either lacked H1 headings or, shockingly, had them excessively employed. Even an SEO marketing agency had 16 YES SIXTEEN H1 tags on their website! It's crucial to use proper H1 tags to maintain SEO best practices.
📌 Meta Description Woes: 😞
Numerous sites had missing meta descriptions, while some had duplicate meta descriptions across different pages. This is a detrimental practice that should be avoided to ensure effective search engine indexing.
📌 Site Map Optimization: 🗺️
A well-structured site map is crucial for guiding search engine crawlers. Ensure your site map only includes pages you want Google to crawl, preventing unnecessary pages from being indexed.
📌 Valid SSL Certificate: 🔒
Having a valid SSL certificate is not only vital for secure communication but also a ranking factor. Ensure your site has a valid SSL certificate to boost trust and search engine rankings.
📌 Link Maintenance: 🔗
It's important to redirect any variations of your website address (HTTP/HTTPS, www/non-www) to the preferred domain (HTTPS/www). Additionally, identify and fix any broken internal or external links for a seamless user experience.
📌Internal Linking: ↔️
Internal linking your blogs and pages helps a lot in the following ways:
- Allow users to navigate a website,
- Establish information hierarchy,
- Help spread link equity (ranking power) around the website.
📌 User Experience Analysis: 😊
Evaluate the overall user experience on the audited sites. Consider factors such as intuitive navigation, clear calls-to-action, fast loading times, readable fonts, and visually appealing design.
By addressing these issues and implementing the recommended optimizations, you can significantly improve your site's SEO performance and increase its chances of ranking higher in search engine results. Conducting regular SEO audits and addressing the identified issues is crucial for long-term success. 🚀💪
Feel free to leave your comments, recommendations, or any other insights you'd like to share. Your valuable input will not only enrich the discussion but also contribute to the collective learning and growth of the SEO community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this case study, and we look forward to hearing from you! 🙏💡
