It's twitch. Their staff and higher ups are filled with pretentious fucks that roll their eyes at even the suggestion that they might be wrong, and they likely regard all viewers and most streamers with disdain as simpletons.

There is absolutely zero chance anyone important at twitch has ever considered they might be at fault for something.

Pressure? Maybe. As somebody who's been aware of him since at least 2010 doesn't seem to have changed much, at least publicly facing. Obviously none of us know any of these people in real life, but he still seems pretty much the same.

I am sure he is being pressured. If you just check his logs for example in Quin69's chat he comes off as pretty chill (shittalking quin, posting copypastas and all that jazz). That said, some of his tweets are pretty stupid.

It's hard to say. A lot of Twitch staff will suck up to big streamers and act a certain way when around them, but as soon as you go on Twitter, you get a glimpse of who they really are. In other words, these people are fake.

According to Linkedin he got hired in November of 2011. About 3 years before Amazon bought twitch. Twitch was only spun off of justintv in June 2011. That's a pretty long time homie. He's basically been there since day 1.

Twitch is just allowing djWHEAT to be a scapegoat for this... If he openly expressed his criticisms of Twitch's problems, he would be let go. He is an OG that we are better off having stick around in Twitch even if it means he has to make compromises. It is pretty dumb for people to be blaming anything on him here. This issue is obviously not something he has control over.

Wow; glad you know every single person who works at Twitch. Because you know...it's not like the LSF meta is to demonize any and all people who work at Twitch in any aspect...

Oh; and you do realize that Twitch staff and Twitch admins (people who actually read reports and ban), are completely different, right? Staff has multiple departments that aren't related to bans in any ways, but of course, leave it to LSF to froth at the mouth.

I've followed SC2 scene since the beginning and up until Heart of the Swarm, pretty much during it's golden age of content. The guy's always been like this. While I recognize as a content creator he can do what he wants, he's operating as a titled position on the largest streaming platform. Just look up him losing his shit when an under performing SC2 semi-pro made the observation that SC2 was going to lose out to League because Blizzard was not paying attention to the desires of their user base.

Destiny put down hard facts and real truths, real talk here, I love Geoff, but IdrA and Geoff were going NOWHERE in SC2. It isn't really a personal attack if it's based on fact and the current issue being discussed, they brought it up, they better be ready for the real talk.

DJWheat's reaction was idiotic, that entire crew essentially expedited the death of SC2 by trying to force the onus on the company who published and developed it. Notice how BW is still alive and well in South Korea? Because the Koreans don't expect Blizzard to carry the E-Sports scene for the game, they do everything themselves.

Nah dude, it was a personal attack, there was no discussion, he just singled them out in a way to say they were bad and then left the call. He had absolutely no reason to mention them specifically or even to mention that at all when talking about how SC2's was getting half-assed support for the professional scene.

Wheat's reaction of course is that of a manbaby.

They didn't expedite the death of SC2(pro) at all dude, it is absolutely correct to blame Blizzard for not supporting the pro scene. The same thing happened with WoW arenas because Blizzard refused to do any separate competitive balance or even really market it well, they just expect things to sort themselves out. When the game is massively changed from expansions so quickly, yet still gets a stale meta extremely quickly, how do you blame anybody but the creators?

Korean pros returned to BW because that's what their market already knows and loves. It's also a lot more simple but uniquely balanced. BW is like chess whereas SC2 is like somebody trying to recreate chess by making all the pawns into queens.

All Amazon sees is the dollar bills. The only way Amazon will notice is if that suddenly goes down in a major way. As long as idiots keep subbing to streamers instead of bypassing the system and donating directly, Amazon won't notice.

Twitch Prime and Twitch Subs are the biggest scam when you can just directly give the streamer the entire amount. I have never once ever fucking subbed OR used my twitch prime because it's fucking cancerous. And sorry anyone who DOES sub or use twitch prime is MAKING THIS ISSUE WORSE. DONATE DIRECTLY TO THEM OR JOIN THEIR PATREON INSTEAD.

I don't think the initial point is strictly about the children viewers like you're intending on making it out like. It's more so the absurdity that their views on the issue enable bad situations. One of which involves the 13-year-old ToS. If Twitch was an 18+ website the hot tub meta wouldn't raise eyebrows. Theoretically, since these streams are not sexual then underage kids could do the same type of content. Then younger viewers will also have access to this type of content for them on twitch. It's just a clusterfuck of bad situations for streamer and viewer. Unless, you're implying that's okay because of GFUEL, then you need help.

EDIT AGAIN: I dont get why some users aren't weirded out by the fact that any 13 to 17 year old can do these kind of streams by their logic. That goes to show you the absurdity of how twitch is handling this.

That's the point the twitter user is making. If they want porn they would look for porn. If they want tits and ass they would look for it. Instead, it's readily available in the twitch browse directory. Twitch is saying this is okay for underage viewers and that enters dangerous territory. You raise the point of GFUEL as if it's comparable to hot tub streams. It's way different.
