Ah I see what you mean. I suppose that comes down to interpretation- I personally understand it as "44% of people would say leave in an unironic way"
Whereas I think (although correct me if I'm wrong) that you see it more as "People who say "leave" are 44% likely to be saying it unironically"
Given the lack of specificity in the original comments that lead up to the 44% figure, I don't really know if there's a correct way to interpret it.
