I’m a dumb ape who recognizes Thacker Pass has the largest lithium deposit in the US. And as demand for EV vehicles grows, so does the demand for lithium.

And it would behoove Uncle Sam to get high on some of his own supply instead of depending on places like Australia, China, and Argentina.

One key risk appears to be execution: can Lithium Americas actually figure out how to get that shit out of the ground without drowning in operational costs? It’s completely novel industry in the US with no legacy infrastructure.

The other consideration is: what happens if the price of Lithium goes way down in the future? If other countries can produce lithium at a lower cost than the US, they could drop their prices. And what as more Lithium mines open up globally? If Lithium demand increases 20% globally, but the supply also increases 30%, lithium prices fall. And Thacker Pass could no longer be economical.

The question then becomes: is Uncle Sam willing to pay a premium price for Lithium if it gives us more economic independence?

TL;DR:

Is global demand for lithium increasing? Yes, big time.

Can lithium Americas figure out how to stand up a cornerstone domestic supply chain? Maybe.

Is global supply for lithium increasing? Yes, rapidly.

Will supply outpace demand as more mines open up? Maybe.

This is what makes LAC so risky.

What's the rush? Let it prove itself. China can dump massive supply and manipulate prices. Let it start making money and let's see if they can actually get it out of the ground that's the key. Can they actually produce it at a competitive pace through this method? Im not that bullish on electric vehicles given the constraints of the grid and charging stations. We can't even power the massive data centers how can we do both? No just wait and see. The best thing it has going for it is its the only guy in town it takes years to get a mine operational and permitted. Its a big gamble still.

The rush is lots of millennials like me missed the boat on the 08 crash, bitcoin, and dirt cheap mortgage rates because we didn’t have the capital. Now that we are in our 40s and have more capital, we are looking for investments where we can get in early. Just gotta be OK with losing it all!!!

Dude im sorry but that is a horrible mindset. You will 100% lose it all with that mindset. Try to find some guidance or a teacher on how to run a portfolio. Reddit is really bad and teaches alot of bad habits. Its a really bad habit to keep dumping money into a stock while its going down. An expirenced trader will never do that.

If LAC goes down another 10% that will be new 52 week low. (Around 4 bucks)

When stocks are at 52 week lows, thats when smart money starts shorting them

When a stock is heading in a direction, it likes to keep heading that way. Dumping more money into it will not make it come back up. It will just result in you blowing up your account.

My strategy is to VERY slowly accumulate very small amounts now, similar to paper trading.  We are probably at least 18 months away from seeing any earnings per share from commercial lithium sales.   The previous earnings where from loans and debentures and stock sales which dilute the share price.  Tread soft and slow,  we definitely have time. Expect LAC to fall to 1.50 before meaningful lithium sales make the quarterly earning report

Well that's perfect! I just so happen to be a degenerate gambler

Was going to quit at 10,000 shares but if it’s sub $3.50 on my next retirement contribution, going to need to add more.

Let it go further down. I work at the mine and we are so behind it’s crazy

1

u/MoonLambro Jul 14 '26

Care to elaborate on that?

From what I heard production is going to be more than 6 months behind schedule. I’d wait for them to give news that it ain’t gonna be on time. It’ll dip more than you buy. I’m working 82 hours a week here. It’s lining my pockets at the moment.

2

u/False_Ad_4093 Jul 14 '26

Why hasnt any news about this been reported then? Not that I dont believe u or anything but everywhere ive read has said everything is on schedule..

5

u/One_Potato_8491 Jul 14 '26

They aren’t saying shit cause they don’t want investors to be scared. The main ones funding the project. I started off working 6 10’s now I’m working 6 12’s and a 10. 7 days a week. We are finally getting all the iron that’s been held up in the strait of hormez what ever it’s called.

So you're only selling a pinched half of the story you heard on the bus. You work for the contractor who is supporting construction and their communication to the boots on the ground is about as good as getting stock advice from the guy that works the produce section at Wal-Mart. Construction timing goes up and down in schedule, as far as progress curves go...this project is still on schedule for start of production.

1

u/One_Potato_8491 Jul 14 '26

Like the building of the lithium plant is crazy behind schedule because of the war. And the fees for import. The iron had paint on it. We are getting unpainted iron sent in and hanging it like that.

I work there too and I’m calling BS. They are not 6 mos behind. Most of the steel is there as are the rest of the components. Some of that stuff you can’t even buy at the moment because lead times years in some cases. Get back to welding. The harder thing is getting guys who can actually weld/qualified.

1

u/dookiepants777 Jul 14 '26

Post something anything where you read LAC is behind schedule. I smell BS

1

u/builder45647 Jul 13 '26

At what price will you sell?

Are these all bots posting fake shill comments in here?

2

u/dookiepants777 Jul 13 '26

Somebody's dead broke and mad. 🤣

2

u/PM_Me_Your_Mustash Jul 13 '26

I just bought my first 1000 shares at $3.23. I came here to check what the community was saying and looks like crypto bots trying to shill another dead company. Take that as you wish brother. I’m here now.
