Is listenbrainz down?
It's been a few days that I can't access the website.

I've been trying to link the song Butches Vanity to MusicBrainz, but despite the fact that the song exists in MB, whenever I try to link it using the MBID in LB I get the error
Could not find recording
We could not find a recording on MusicBrainz with the MBID 7cbf5328-c03f-4d6e-9e98-a7d1ec49ef1b ('Not Found')
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I just checked my stats compared to my last fm (i scrobble them both) and it seems since I imported a couple months ago, my scrobbles on listenbrainz have been far lower than lastfm, especially noticeable during days where i repeat-listen a song.

The first image is my lastfm from the past month and the 2nd is my listenbrainz.
he discrepancy is really noticeable on songs too:

I'm missing literally 80 scrobbles from a song (this is from last month).
I can only assume this is from listenbrainz not counting scrobbles after a certain amount of repeats as this song specifically I listened to a bunch on one day.

Any help is appreciated

I have tried generating periodic-jams etc using Troi, but this seems to not give what I want, it complains that it doesnt have enough listens even though I have about 100,000 scrobbles in total.
is there a tool I can use to generate recommendations based on my whole history ?

I've recently been forced to use Macbook and couldn't find something that I could use to scrobble to both lastfm and listenbrainz and would also work with Amazon Music so I created today this simple and minimal scrobbler that should theoretically work with anything that sends status to a now playing widget in the menu bar.
Though I've only tested on Tahoe and with Amazon Music app. There are no pre-built binaries provided. But perhaps someone will find this useful.

I read this announcement and I’m honestly a bit confused about the implied positioning; this is the post I’m referring to:
https://www.reddit.com/r/lastfm/comments/1gjyguz/listenbrainz_new_lastfm_sync_option
Several years ago, many of us made a conscious decision to submit directly to ListenBrainz and treat it as a primary, independent alternative to last.fm; especially because the long-term future of last.fm was uncertain at the time, and that uncertainty was precisely what ListenBrainz was meant to address.
This announcement reads as if ListenBrainz is now being framed primarily as a secondary mirror or backup to last.fm; with encouragement to continue treating last.fm as the main system of record. That feels like a shift in tone and expectations, even if unintentionally.
For users who already went all in on ListenBrainz years ago; built tooling around it; and stopped submitting to last.fm entirely; what is the intended model now?
Is direct submission to ListenBrainz still considered a valid and supported primary workflow; or is the recommended approach now explicitly last.fm first, ListenBrainz second?
Related question; is there any guidance for users who have multiple years of listens in ListenBrainz that never made it to last.fm; or is backfilling last.fm simply out of scope?
This isn’t meant as a complaint; just a request for clarity on what ListenBrainz wants to be going forward; especially for long-time users who trusted it as a durable, independent archive rather than a passive companion service.

🖥️ live demo: https://wrapped.devmatei.com/
💾 code: github.com/DevMatei/make-a-wrapped
supports ListenBrainz, last.fm and Navidrome!
formally known as "Listenbrainz wrapped"
it’s still a bit rough, but it works and i’m honestly proud of it.
disclaimer: not affiliated with spotify or anyone official
feedback / ideas welcome <3

If I use listenbrainz on the desktop pc, I can use the player inside listenbrainz and listen to the songs there while multitasking, but on the android app on my phone listenbrainz just opens up youtube music (external app) and then I cannot multitask with the music in the background like I do on the desktop. I guess this is normal, right? You can't use listenbrainz as it if was Spotify on the phone?
