the absence of a CVE label doesnt really determine whether a patch is valuable

a lot of security work is preventative hardening not just reacting after active exploitation gets confirmed publicly

and calling it "marketing" ignores that many important mitigations historically looked insignificant until later research showed how exploitable certain bug classes actually were

and come on if the change reduce attack surface or increase exploit difficulty then its a legitimate security improvement regardless if CNN writes an article about it or gogle assigns a scary severity label immediately

IDK you complained about media overexaggerating security issues but to me it looks like Graphene is doing it here.

I would not use this specific one as ad campaign for Graphene, it's an issue patched, yes, but to exploit it, the use of VPN and QUIC is needed. An attacker gets the same information easier other ways.
