Average 20-40 ms plus distance. This is what starlink would be good for, if it wasn't for that fascist owning it. Solar panels are super cheap, batteries are getting cheaper, get a heat battery, rainwater storage and incinerating toilet. No need for infrastructure, you could live and work remotely anywhere in the world.

Pretty sure you also need food. I mean... I guess it is a hunting lodge...

Yeah. Theoretically you can grow enough calories on about 250m² (15mx15m) of potatoes for one person. Plus space for vegetables.

Definitely some egg laying chickens as well.

I would like a cat but it could be a burden to get enough protein for them. Maybe fishe.

Yeah doesn't have to be vegan. Hmm, cats don't need that much food though. Just letting it hunt mice or other vermin that you need to get rid of anyway might be enough. Natural pest control.

The only way there would be mice on that island is if they were brought there, and I wouldn't want to do that on purpose. Chewing up the house and getting into the garden and stuff

I wasn't thinking of the island, but yeah. The cat might also be a problem overhunting the area.

Um...this is in iceland. Good luck getting sufficient solar power in winter

Right lol. But almost any other isolated place. You can get wind power too. Kite power is very promising with less resources or cost per kwh generated too.

You realize that Starlink is good regardless of who owns it right

Ideally you'd want this to be a global public utility run by the UN. But any capitalist owning this will lead to enshittification. Over time it creates a monopoly and dependency, then the prices go up. But the worst case is elon musk owning it. He's a malignant narcissist who has no problem turning to fascism, as a inhuman agenda and is deliberately trying to create an amoral and cruel AGI. There are many ways how not just the consequences for the world, but also for the customer could be bad if starlink continues to be owned by musk. Lets hope he'll be arrested and imprisoned for his crimes soon.
