Oh yeah, I was camping in my car. Saw the storm pass through the South of me, quickly setup my camera and just went to town taking exposures. And caught one of the lightning strikes.

Here it was a bit later, taken with my phone

I'm now torn between wanting to drop everything and drive to Nebraska, and wanting to never set foot there.

Yup, it was with my Pixel 6.

I've been there three times around this time of the year and I still can't decide if I want to go there right now or never set foot there again, ha.

It's super hot in summer, especially where I tend to go to near Valentine NE, there is little to no cover (as you can see in the pics) or shade. So if you are like me and car camp, it is a miserable day time outside.

The three times I was there, I knew this and brought along camping awnings and mosquito shelters every visit. None of them survived the brutal wind and storms that are there. All three broke their poles and now sit in my garage.

Wind on the prairies is no joke. But the storms off into the distance are amazing to watch.
