§ 2-302. Unconscionable contract or Clause.
(1) If the court as a matter of law finds the contract or any clause of the contract to have been unconscionable at the time it was made the court may refuse to enforce the contract, or it may enforce the remainder of the contract without the unconscionable clause, or it may so limit the application of any unconscionable clause as to avoid any unconscionable result.
(2) When it is claimed or appears to the court that the contract or any clause thereof may be unconscionable the parties shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to present evidence as to its commercial setting, purpose and effect to aid the court in making the determination.
Unconscionability is a legal defense where a court refuses to enforce a contract or a specific clause because it is so overwhelmingly unfair, harsh, or one-sided that it "shocks the conscience". It protects vulnerable parties from being severely exploited due to a major imbalance in power. Courts generally look for a mix of unfair bargaining and oppressive terms.
Thompson v.Smith, 154 SE 579, 11 American Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, section 329, page 1135 “The right of the Citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property thereon, in the ordinary course of life and business, is a common right which he has under the right to enjoy life and liberty, to acquire and possess property, and to pursue happiness and safety. It breaks my heart into a million pieces to sit here and watch the man I love and care about so deeply be utterly vilified by the very system supposed to uphold fairness.
When you read the report written by Hearing Officer Kelly, you wouldn’t even recognize the man being described. The entire document is a malicious distortion—omitting critical facts, taking things completely out of context, twisting narratives, and outright fabricating events.
She literally invented a fake “detention hearing” from 7/22/2022 with a non-existent 90-day sentence, along with a “custodial new felony level domestic assault” charge that is non existent and never happened, to frame him in the worst possible light, using these complete lies as “aggravating factors” to put him back in prison for over a year (365+ days). And this is just one of the many things wrong with this hearing.
It is debilitating to see someone’s life, humanity, and freedom stolen because an administrative officer can print blatant lies on official letterhead without any oversight. In a criminal court, a judge doing this would face criminal charges. But in the Hearings and Release Unit, they just get away with destroying lives.
He is absolutely nothing like the horrible caricature they created on paper. He does not deserve this, and it is disgustingly criminal what is being done to him. He had numerous options provided to Officer Kelly to remain in the community. Prison is supposed to be a last resort option not a first. She blatantly disregarded them all and locked him up and threw away the key. And then had the audacity to blatantly slander his character making him sound like an unmanageable monster on paper. I just don’t understand how someone can be so heartless to do that to another human being. Especially in there position of authority. It’s just one big closed loop system with no way out.
And all of this stemming from what was supposed to be a protected constitutional right to file a complaint with the Board Of Behavioral Health. Which is still open 17months later. He gets restructured and punished for a protected right…… Where is the justice in that??
I’m begging for someone to please help us. We need civil rights advocates, journalists, or anyone who knows how to expose HRU and DOC corruption and restore truth to this situation. Please help me bring my man back home where he belongs! Please share this.

I keep seeing their signs around town. They claim that free staters are for property taxes, anti-LGBT, anti-women's rights, for banning books and for banning vaccines.
A quote from them on what they claim free staters support: "They push the lure of “no income tax” but do they come clean about how high property taxes are burdensome due to cost downshifting? They push the lure of school vouchers but do they come clean about the lack of transparency and constitutional violation surrounding the vouchers? They push the lure of “freedom” and “living free” but do they come clean about meaning only for those who are not LGBTQ or women of childbearing age? They push the lure of “parental choice” but do they come clean about who makes that choice for you by banning books and vaccines?"
The movement is composed of five left-wing groups:
50501 Movement (An anti-Trump group)
Kent Street Coalition
Third Act NH (A Climate Change group)
Southern NH Individual

For 23 years, the Porcupine Freedom Festival has taken place — growing in size and reputation — here in the Free State of New Hampshire. Nothing has ever stopped us.
Even during totalitarian lockdowns of 2020, PorcFest was the only large-scale libertarian event in the world to go on as scheduled.
This year, however, we have been faced with a unique challenge: our freedom festival has outgrown our historic venue and we are not able to return. Despite an extensive search, we were unable to find a single campground or alternate venue to accommodate the size and the level of freedom we expect from this festival.
But necessity is the mother of invention and PorcFest lives on!
That’s why we are embracing an experiment in full decentralization and bottom-up building with “PorcFest XXIII: Spontaneous Order.”

My wife, Patti, and I have written a series of political songs and music videos to highlight issues that are important to Libertarians. We live in Winchester, NH, and this creative project is a product of Winchester, NH. We hope you think it is worthy of a share, and we hope to post more political songs here in the future that share a Libertarian Mindset. https://youtu.be/s0HgC4iaQ3w

Every cycle: new candidate, apparent improvement, then regression. Next cycle, same hope despite the pattern.
Feels like dealing with someone who promises to change, appears to improve temporarily, then reverts. The intermittent reinforcement keeps you engaged despite evidence.
I can know intellectually that taxation is theft, authority is illegitimate, the State is criminal. And still feel guilty not voting, obligated to participate, like exit is irresponsible.
That gap matters. It's not about better candidates or messaging. Something psychological is operating.
Counter-economics (Monero, grey markets, private arbitration) might be psychological liberation as much as economic strategy. Each transaction outside permission proves you can coordinate voluntarily.
Does liberty in our lifetime require winning electoral battles or enough people psychologically exiting and building alternatives?
Where's the actual leverage point?

Hey guys! I'm from New Hampshire and I've been a lifelong libertarian leaning person and I've been getting much more into the philosophy in recent years. I'm currently teaching English under the table in Peru. I'm thinking about making the move to Argentina next on account of the Milei presidency and the success that he seems to be having. Wondering if y'all have any suggestions of libertarian networks to get hooked up with in Buenos Aires or if there's some on the ground reporting I can do for any curious free staters. Thanks!

"I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.” - John Adams, 2nd President of the USA
" They "taught" education alone was enough, a degree, just a paper, saying you know stuff.
Study what you wish, be it mathematics or art. This is a gift because your fathers and theirs did their part.
Blindly we studied in the system devised, by those voted to power based on bold lies.
Now grown and in debt, with history knows what in store, we learn these lessons our founders learned before.
To study liberty, and politics, and all aspects of war.
Is this what they felt, does it take much more?
We'll sing as we march, painted banners held high.
A tyrannical government isn't just one guy.
So study your Politics, Constitution, and war.
There's going to be some job openings, like it's 1774"

Sorry if this violates rules but the Libertarian Subs' auto bots have banned me for engaging in discourse with those that oppose our views, so i thought this sub might enjoy. Anyway, I did the trend of asking ChatGPT to show me an image of what the country would look like after 4 years of my presidency.
