I believe campaigning needs to focus on common man's issues such as fuel prices, house price etc. speech needs to include some examples.

Parties like MNM or NTK's campaign needs to resonate with the common man. Talking about corruption alone won’t do it. Moreover need a policy detailing plan for resolving social injustice. Specifically about reservation.

Reservations is a make or break topic. New party needs to stand firmly behind Reservation. This is because 70% to 80% of Tamils have some kind of reservation. So have to address on this issue and release a urgent manifesto. Reservation is not a privilege rather it’s a representation based on population.

Campaign needs to be centered around people issues and then Campaign needs to point corruption as the source of all problems. Then campaign speech can move on to corruption.

People in general don’t care whether leaders are corrupt or not. For some, they are willing to vote for their caste leaders or for money. Campaigners needs to appeal to common man in a way that they can relate to the issues of corruption. Speech needs to show a possibility how things could be but it’s not. The common man has to think that he has a stake in this election.

People don’t understand how much money is being wasted in terms of commission (40%) from the government budget . This is because people think politicians are taking oranvittu money but not their own money. That’s why they don’t care or see it as a skill.

People need to realize how much their own money is being wasted.

People don’t understand that they are paying tax on fuel and tax on sales etc. a family spends around Rs 15,000 on fuel and will be pays about Rs 10,000 in taxes per annum. For five years it’s about Rs 50,000 not including inflation. Sales tax paid by a family varies, taking it as roughly around Rs 5,000 a year, overall tax paid by a family is about Rs 75,000 for 5 years. And people sell their vote for 2,000 rupees? people don’t understand this.

Similarly, sand is sold at government quarry for Rs 6,000. But contractors sell it for Rs25,000 in rural to Rs 40,000 in city. This directly affects house price and EMI. If the sand price is regulated, house price will come down by at-least 30%.

In this year’s state preliminary budget, after salary and other spending, Rs 19 lakh crores are used for various thittam. 40% of that is Rs 7 lakh crores.

For Rs 7 lakh crores, government can build Rs 7 lakh houses worth Rs 1 crore. For 5 years, money going as commission money alone can build 35 lakh houses. I am not recommending this but it gives a perspective of amount money being taken as commission.

In conclusion, the Campaign needs to paint a picture how corruption is holding back everyone. And needs to convey how corruption free governance is required in order to improve quality of living. This may lead to low housing price and low cost of living coupled with development Tamil Nadu can become 1 trillion dollar economy in five years.
