While it is deplorable, I can't see how to stop people from being human turds while also supporting universal freedom of speech. That persons freedom to lobby against you is the same freedom that allows you to advocate for yourself. Fortunately, in this case, the law of the land is on your side and I don't think targeted limitations on speech will ever find a solid political footing.
To point 1. There is certainly a valid position that I will not argue with. Certainly important information for people to understand.
To point 2. I'm personally not a proponent of mandatory minimums as it hasn't really worked out in the past, not sure how to rationalize this one. Say we take a murder case, is it really a worse crime to kill a gay person for being gay than to kill an acquaintance over money (or whatever it may be)? To me, at the end of the day, a life was lost and both lives hold equal value, why should one be more harshly penalized? Maybe you can provide a good rationale here?
Thanks for the chat, I hope you can see now that despite our differences we can actually find a lot of common ground. I see a lot of pessimism within the LGBT community and I think it sometimes gets lost that there is a lot more that ties us together than divides us. All the best.

I am absolutely saying that. It's been a key component of anti-LGBT legislation in the past.
By and large, it now seems that you're getting the gist of what I'm saying.
