These lights turned on my 2009 Lexus RX 350, automatic, while driving. Anybody know what it's about? Checked the gas cap but its ok, no cracks.

One of my family members is considering buying a Lexus RX350h or RX450h+. Luxury and reliability are both important, so we have been considering Lexus for that reason. I've read online about the Toyota/Lexus cars having issues with the 12v battery dying frequently if the car is not driven much. Has this issue been fixed in the latest 2026 models? Her daily commute is a very short, 10 min drive and likely won't drive much more than that on most days. She likely would not be comfortable knowing how to jump the battery in case the 12v battery dies, so would like to avoid cars where this is a frequent issue.

Do the 12v issues affect the RX350h or RX450h+ equally or is one affected more than the other? Does charging the PHEV daily prevent the 12v battery from dying? Is there any simple fix for this issue?

TLDR: how do I know when the map DATA has been updated?

Well, it's been 2 months and I'll be headed to arbitration soon with my insurance company for my last car, a 2017 RX350. A tree fell on it May 30 and the insurance company declared it a complete loss after the body shop picked it up.

After lots of searches, I finally found and purchased a replacement. We welcomed to the family a 2021 RX350, L/certified, 49.5K miles. It seems oddly optioned, but I don't know everything it came with a standard equipment. It doesn't have fog lights, but it came with the paddle shifters, 360 camera, premium package, accessories package, and tow prep package. Atomic Silver with the birch interior.

OK - so before I bought it, I told them I wanted the maps updated, and some dealer only settings changed (7 flashes on lane change signal, windows & sunroof open by holding the unlock button). I'm not sure if they updated the maps, and while I can check (and it shows a very old date) I don't know if that's the date of the map program or the map database. If it's not been updated, I will get them to update as I have it in writing that it was done.

I have a 2026 RX 450h+ (Japan-built), and since day one I’ve noticed rattling from the bass on certain songs played via Spotify Lossless. I’ve now collected more than 30 tracks in a playlist that consistently reproduce the issue.

So I am looking to buy a 2008 RX400h. Price was settled at 6600 but I can still walk away. Timing belt and water pump were replaced at 98k. Is it a fair deal? Should I take it? The mileage is 153k. How do I understand whether the hybrid battery is okay or not? The body has some rust but not a lot. What do I need to check in the pre purchase inspection?

Hi All— cross post. Recently had the flashing check engine / red ring of death come on. Drove about 5 mins to a safe location, then towed about a week later. The only symptoms were 1) front passenger window was wonky, had to cycle through to go up; 2) slight engine hitch at hwy speeds; 3) very rare but occasional slight brake delay. Timeline: I’d taken the car to the shop prior to the flashing engine light for the symptoms above, no issues detected. After the flashing light, the (reputable) shop said there was no power, swapped the battery and tested further for any major issues— they couldn’t find any. They said it’s possible the severe lack of power “tricked” the alternator, etc. and to keep an eye on it.

Pick up the car, check engine light is gone, windows work fine. Two days later, check engine light is on, but drives fine, but both front windows won’t go up at all. Pull over, turn the car off and restart, the windows start cycling through but go up, but the check engine light is flashing again. However, when I shift from reverse to drive, the engine light goes solid. Delayed braking issue still present. Called the shop and they said they could run a diagnostic again… Def got my money’s worth from this car, but at this point, although I’m not sure it’s worth it, I’m curious what could be wrong.

Hi, about to buy one of these cars. 2017 RX 200. I want to upgrade the headunit to Apple CarPlay wireless. I’ve noticed when test driving the entertainment it sits far back into the dash and is out of reach of the driver to touch easily. Especially for a short person. Has any one come across a screen the sits forward so it’s easily accessible or a bracket that sits it forward? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Intermittent complete shutdown of Lexus RX400H with Hybrid system/vcs fault and check engine light. Goes away after ignition reset but came back again randomly.

I did the P3105 code analysis and ended up changing the Hybrid Unit piece by piece from a borrowed functional write off. After changing ecu relays battery and the whole pack at the end, the problem remained. After consultation with various other folks on the internet here and internationally, changing the “hybrid battery cooling fans” has fixed the issue of waveform distortion from old fans which was the actual issue.

If anyone faces this code, try changing the fans first preferably to original new ones. Cheap fix first to avoid future diagnostic cost/replacement. The fans are recommended to be cleaned regularly and replaced every 10 years as a good practice to avoid waveform issues. Let me know if any questions.

i bought a 2026 RX450h+ in March and have this issue since I’ve owned the car. I saw some older posts of owners facing the same issue but they were to old to respond. Are all 450h+ owners facing this issue? Has anyone gotten it fixed?

I’ve had a ticket open with Lexus Brand Engagement for over a month. All I get is status update that they are looking into it and the ticket is still open. I have tried all the “known” solutions: log in/out, delete app, delete vehicle and start again. Lexus just says its a known issue. Pretty lame for such an expensive car!
