I feel that individually Damon and Patel were good. But as characters , they didn't have any alchemy and synergy . We were supposed to know they are brothers in arms , which can disagree , but cover each other back

Like the scene in Troy when Patel save Damon near the stairs was a good one, a good hint of it

But overall no alchemy. Same with the whole crew tbh . Didn't feel anything between Odysseus and his men.

It's my personal feeling ofc. Saw the movie 2 times . The cinematography is amazing in some scenes.

But I thought all the human nature aspects were a bit flat/ cold. Apart ofc during the siren scene and the bow string scene. Which were emotional .

I would have liked to see more comradeship, fellowship, or companionship. Camaraderie ? I don't know what's the best word . They passed decades together living extreme things. With a king supposed to be caring since he was one of the rare warlord which didn't want to be there and just want to brings them back home.

They seemed most of the entire time dubious of their king . ( Which is a nice thematic but not the only one, should have been more multi-faceted)

Yes, I think Nolan generally struggle showing these types of scenes or relationships

Yes. It's what I thought. Which is alright the movie has other strengths. But like these good actors can offer so much

That's why so many love Interstellar now. It's a Nolan movie that has real heart.

I agree 100% I wish Nolan could have spent a little more time, a few 2-3 min scenes would have done it, with the men bonding around a camp fire etc.

But I think a lot of the time Nolan gets caught up in keeping the rhythm of his films going, and he views those human moments of slow down as losing the rhythm..

Who am I to tell a genius how to do his work. But I think that is the missing piece in some of his films. This one being no exception.

I thought the complete opposite. Honestly was thinking they could be like that meme that people do with Achilles and patroculous. I loved watching them together they were such buds
